The world is always a bit smaller than we think: it's hard to get your head around the reality that only 66 years passed between the Wright brother's first flight at Kitty Hawk and the Apollo moon landing!
Virtual reality seems like a 21st-century phenomenon, but the history of VR goes back almost 100 years. What's even more exciting is the future of VR.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought about unexpected shifts for corporations. Suddenly, the digital world was the only safe space to hold meetings, events, and other gatherings.
Even corporations who had previously been tech-shy were now being forced to embrace Zoom and other online platforms to keep their businesses afloat. Because of the lockdowns and limits on in-person interaction, virtual events became a necessary answer to the changing cultural climate.
Virtual events are cheap to run and easy to attend, making them an appealing alternative to in-person conferences, regardless of lockdown limitations.
However, their over-reliance on video-based communications has limited the potential for networking opportunities and human interaction, making digital events dry and difficult to attend. Many corporate event organizers have noted this issue and are now turning to augmented reality to elevate the virtual event and create more immersive, engaging experiences for event attendees.

Healthcare is a fundamental need for all people, but access to a medical professional can be difficult, especially for somebody suffering from a medical condition.
VR technology bridges the gap between patients and providers to get people the help they need.
Using this technology, a doctor can interact with their patient as if they were in the examination room together even when they're miles apart, making virtual healthcare appointments more useful than ever before.

It was not Ready Player One with its dystopian environment, and endless eighties pop-culture references; nor the introduction of the Oculus Quest as the first untethered gaming-ready headset that made an industry full of promise, finally take off.
The tipping point was the result of a far more and real dystopian reality, one of a global pandemic, triggering the need to connect in new ways at work and home.
Donât take my word for it: the numbers speak for themselves. Facebook reports over 60 games on the Quest and Quest 2, making north-of $1M since the beginning of 2020. Sales of the Quest 2 were a huge portion of their Q4 earnings, estimations of 2M-plus devices sold during this period.

Over the last several years, the XR community has proclaimed that this âwill be the year for VRâ. Each year disappointment ensued. Then comes 2020: a global pandemic that forced social distancing, cancelation of all outdoor/indoor events, and the huge disruption to the workplace as weâve known it.
Suddenly, concepts like remote-work and virtual-events begin to go mainstream in the struggle to find connectivity and community during this time of human-physical separation.
Most companies that started to use spatial technologies in their business, doubled-down their efforts, while others jumped on the bandwagon as they sought affordable, scalable solutions for remote collaboration, training and more.
Consequently, AR & VR adoption increased.

Futuristic, virtual reality (VR) technology got off to a slow start. Headsets were expensive, and the graphics weren't realistic enough to draw in mainstream attention.
But recent improvements mean it's finally entering the mainstream consumer market. In fact, over 58.9 million Americans will use VR every month by the end of 2021, and you can now play countless titles such as simulators, horror games, and, more recently, poker on VR. So, here's more on why VR is the future of poker.

If you have been through the magazine aisle lately, you may have noticed the decline in game-related magazines. In a digital world creating a print magazine may seem like an outdated idea. But what we have learned is people still like the tangible. The touch and feel you don't get from a digital article.
It feels more personal, and in a world trying to convince us that digital only content is the "New Normal" some of us want to hold on to tradition.
Particularly in the VR realm, it brings a tangibility to the technology that most VR enthusiasts never get to experience.
This is where we need your help. We are trying to raise $6,500 to help us cover costs for another year of printing and shipping in order to grow our business and bring on talent.

Over the years I have researched and experienced a lot of strange (and sometimes outright bizarre) VR tech, but earlier this year I had the opportunity to check something out that was beyond even my wildest sci-fi dreams: playing a VR game using nothing more than the power of my mind.
As I was setting everything up, I thought for sure that it was going to be some kind of gimmick, but I couldnât have been more wrong. After a brief calibration system, I tested a few 2D applications.

In this episode, Dan and Kody reveal how they came up with the idea for a VR Trend Magazine. The guys had worked together at a publishing company when they discovered their mutual love of all things VR.
The idea of a virtual reality magazine excited them. They sought feedback from the VR community on Twitter, and after getting an overwhelmingly positive response, they created a Patreon.
Now they spend their days curating content, building, printing and shipping actual magazines to mailboxes across the globe.
VR enthusiasts have loved receiving and writing for the magazine over the last year. Even the Between Realities host, Alex, has been a contributor to the magazine.

Last month saw a big moment for virtual reality, as audio darling Porter Robinson gave a glowing testimony of VRâs capacity for holding concerts where Covid had previously prohibited them.
Robinsonâs review, found in most major culture news sources, gave credence to established VRChat music venues such as Ghost Club, M.A.S.S., Shelter, and Loner Online.
But these four locales arenât the only ones attracting crowds of users to the dance floor.
What follows is a guide to another slice of VRChatâs music scene, past whatâs presented in popular media to cut to the meat of the action.
These clubs play any type of music the DJ brings to the table, so your night is filled with dancing to whatâs hot, rather than a specific genre. Strap on your headset, get your full-body trackers, and pick your poison.
Thereâs plenty of excitement to go around.
