You may be thinking, we already have a bagel shop in Cleveland - the lovely local Cleveland Bagel Company, with multiple locations around the city! This is true and you’re absolutely right. But it is essential to me, and all bagel-less CSU students, to have one closer to our campus.
🥯
This is our humble pleas for a bagel shop!

Pink Studied (PNK) can be taught anywhere that has a “scene.”
🎸
The halls of the Punk Studies department should be pre-tagged and pre-stunk with the miasma of spewed Pabst Blue Ribbon.

For years, teenage girls have pioneered what is perceived as “cool” in our society.

And yet, simultaneously, society has continually ridiculed teenage girls and their interests.

It’s time to stop hating things because teenage girls like them.

A group of budding filmmakers at Cleveland State University are asking for financial contributions for their creative endeavors.

The goal of "Skit/ish" is simply to provide quirky and absurd humor that delights in a refreshing non-meaning. It revels in existentialism. The meaning behind each skit is simple– relax, enjoy, and smile.

Even though the group of students is working on this project for Cleveland State's film school, it is not simply fulfilling some classroom requirements. They are deeply passionate about the concept and goals of this film.

Any money that we receive will go towards props, costumes, set dressing, location rental fees, possible entrance fees to film festivals, and more.

Everyone who donates to "Skit/ish" will receive credit on the final cut of the film.

Most days, a trip into CSU’s dining hall leaves you disappointed and still hungry. Partially raw meat, vegetables that were either undercooked or over cooked (but seemingly never in between) and pizza that can give you an upset stomach just by looking at it.
🍗
Most days, though, do not include Wednesdays.

Promise, Unraveled

Entreating words that should’ve been left on paper
said too many times over
until they’ve lost all structure
until their form is nothing more than stray letters

The consonants don’t feel so grating anymore once rough
around the edges now threadbare, worn by copies of
bodies it’s always the same sound but it emits the most
beautiful off of you

and so, it’s the vowels that hurt the syllables that are still
stuck like sour honey in the wedges of my brain

Beseeched with hands clenched so tightly
like a prayer- straight into my lungs you beg but I
already swore I’ll give you so much
I want to give you so much
but it’d be better for the both of us
to just under-pour instead

How many times can you ask me for something
that we both want but only I am able to impart

Entreating words that should’ve fallen out of a pencil
because pen bleeds permanent
a convoluted incoherence of ink
until their form is nothing more than blurred cliché

How many times will you ask me for something I
can give to you I want to give to you only you

but while you’re still willing to tie the telephone cord
around her throat too I’m going to keep it for myself
I’m going to hold it so tightly
as if it were me, myself

please don’t take me please don’t just take me
