Hey there!

I am absolutely pumped to give a massive shoutout to my brother and teammate, the one and only DJ OK, also known as we!

The story of DJ OK and I began in the scorching summer of 2020 when tragedy struck our team with the loss of one of our DJs to Covid. Our paths crossed when we collaborated on a wedding gig, and from that very moment, we both knew we had something brewing. DJ OK decided to join forces with us, and ever since then, we've been non-stop. Witness his growth, both as a person and as a DJ, has been nothing short of inspiring.

Now, let me take you to Barley House Cleveland, home to the most epic DJ showdown in the Midwest. It's the battleground where DJs from far and wide compete for glory. Last year, DJ OK clinched the second spot, falling just short to a DJ from Pittsburgh. Fueled by the fire of that defeat, he made a bold declaration – he would return the following year to claim the crown.

And guess what? He went and did just that!

Last night was nothing short of spectacular as DJ OK blazed through the multi-month competition bracket, ultimately emerging victorious at the 2024 Spinfest held at Barley House Cleveland. Let me tell you, for those not in the DJ scene, this is an absolute game-changer! Imagine performing in front of a panel of industry heavyweights and a crowd packed with fellow DJs – talk about pressure!

I can't contain my pride and excitement for DJ OK, who poured his heart and soul into perfecting his set and engaging the audience. Ladies and gentlemen, brace yourselves for the unrivaled talent, the masterful showman – the one and only, the BEST DJ in Northeast Ohio… DJ OK! 🎧🔥

The individual would need to be able to do and be the following….

•extremely reliable. Must be able to commit to being on time and showing up.

•must be able to lift heavy weight. this individual must be able to load gear in and out of venues.

•must be presentable. we work in suits and you must look the part.

•must be a team player and a self starter. We don’t babysit or tell you what to do. You must be able to make decisions on the fly and should demonstrate exceptional critical thinking skills.

•work is consistent. there are plenty of opportunities to grow within our organization.

•must be able to work all weekend. We’re responsible for throwing insane parties and people party on the weekends, this is not a Mon-Fri job. This is a Friday-Sunday gig.

Hey everyone! I just had to take a moment to share how incredible this year has been to DJ at the Browns stadium. 🏈 The energy, the passion, and the sheer excitement that filled the air was absolutely electric!

This season, the Browns went above and beyond, achieving levels of success that we haven't seen in years. They fought hard, battled through adversity, and showcased their sheer determination on the field. It's been an honor to be part of such a historic journey, and I couldn't be prouder of our team! 🙌❤️

I want to give a massive shout-out to DJ OK for DJ’ing through it all. Your dedication, talent, and unwavering support have brought the beats to life and kept the crowd on their feet! 🎧🔥 Thank you for making every game day an absolute blast!

I also want to express my deepest gratitude to Cayden, my amazing friend, who has been by my side at every single game this year. Waking up at 4:30am every Sunday, to join me at the stadium is a true testament to your commitment to ODJP and our friendship. You've added an extra layer of joy to this experience, and I'm forever grateful for your presence and all of your help!

Dj abbreviations and terms….

Dj= disc jockey= someone who mixes or plays music

Load in= the process of unloading equipment and setting it up at a venue.

Load out= the process of breaking down equipment and packing it up at the end of the night.

1’s & 2’s, decks, = this is reference to the 2 turn tables, that a dj uses. Turntable 2 and turntable 2.

CDJ= a type of media player that works like a record player but plays cd’s or a form of digital media.

Platters= the round part on newer media players that a dj would simulate scratching on like they are scratching a record. They will also nudge these platters to keep music in time.

BPM= this stands for beats per minute. Dj’s mix songs together that can be manipulated to the point where both songs are playing at the same speed. This also means the BPM’s measure how fast or slow a song is played.

Cans= the headphones a DJ wears.

Serato, recordbox, or VDJ is referred to as the software a DJ uses to play media aka songs.

SL box = a device used to take non digital mixers and media players such as turn tables and make them able to play digital media.

Tops= typically the top speaker emitting mid and high frequency sound.

Bottoms= the speaker being used for bass. This is also called a sub, bin, or subwoofer.

Controller= an all in one media player made up of a left media player, right media player and mixer. These have become the go to devices for most mobile dj’s to use because of their ease of setup and breakdown.

Movers= a light fixture that is also referenced as a moving head. These lighting fixtures are typically setting on stages or near dance floors and have a pan and tilt axis.

Cuts= when a dj manipulates a fader to scratch a record.

Fader= a lever on a mixer the goes up and down or left and right to manipulate volume of f a channel.

Crossfader= this is the same as a fader but moves horizontal to bring volume in and out from one channel to the other.

DMX= not the rapper…. We’re talking about mainly programable lighting where lights can be programmed through a software. DMX can be wireless but started as linking fixtures together through the use of cables. We may also be referring to programming smoke, sparklers etc.

XLR. A cable used to wire sound from a mixer to a speaker.

Powercon= a cable used with a specific end piece used to power a fixture or speaker or other piece of dj equipment.

Please add to this if you’re a DJ. I’m tired of typing but want to put a list of terms and abbreviations we use together to help some new people.
