Diljit Dosanjh’s Royal Moment at the Met Gala 2025: A Win for Culture, Fashion & Representation
The Met Gala has always been a spectacle of haute couture and creative expression, but this year, Diljit Dosanjh gave it something deeper—cultural pride wrapped in royal elegance.
As I watched Diljit walk the iconic Met steps, I felt a surge of emotion. He wasn’t just showcasing fashion; he was making a statement for every South Asian, every Sikh, and every individual who's ever longed to see their heritage respected and celebrated on a global platform.
Wearing a masterfully tailored ensemble by Prabal Gurung, adorned with sparkling jewels by Golecha, and finishing the look with a turban and the Kripan—Diljit didn’t just dress for the theme, “Veil of Time: Fashion’s Dualities.” He embodied it.
As an Indian, and especially as a Sikh, I am so proud of Diljit Dosanjh for representing us so powerfully on the world stage. His presence at the Met Gala wasn’t just about fashion—it was a historic moment of pride, faith, and visibility for our entire community.
The Kripan, a sacred symbol of courage and spiritual strength in Sikhism, stood out as a reminder that faith and fashion can walk hand-in-hand. It was a powerful message, broadcast to the world without saying a single word.
Diljit was joined by other Bollywood icons like SRK , Priyanka Chopra Jonas Made Jewelry History Again on the Met Gala Red Carpet and who also made striking debuts. But Diljit’s presence was something more—it was spiritual, cultural, and iconic.
As someone who has spent my life uplifting South Asian voices through media and cultural advocacy, I couldn’t be more inspired. This wasn’t just a red carpet look—it was a cultural milestone that we’ll remember for years.
Thank you, Diljit, for walking with pride and purpose—you represented us all with dignity, style, and heart.
