What do you do on a 7-hour layover in Boston? As much as you possibly can of course⏳ Swipe and read on to see what I got up to in the city known as the “Cradle of Liberty” 🦅

First things first: get from airport to downtown. I mean taking uber sounds like a grand plan, but what if I told you there was the that not only takes the same amount of time, but also gives you amazing views of the Boston Harbor and skyline! It’s a must do, don’t even try to argue 👀

Next, lunch at a traditional Irish pub and then on too for a pint or two.. or three 🍻

On the way there, you see many famed historical sites such as Paul Revere’s House and you get to take a stroll through the Italian district (note the Vespa)😅

Honestly though, for the fact I really only spent about 4 hours in Boston, it immediately took ahold of the history nerd in me and I can’t wait to return to the city in the future!

What’s your favorite place to go in Boston? I need ideas for my next layover 🤔

You never know what you’ll find tucked away in the North Carolina mountains ⛰️ Finding abandoned pieces of the world like this is always a thrill and not to mention it makes for some moody photos.

If anyone can tell me what exactly this is, it would settle some serious discussions had among friends. Personally I thought it looked like the remains of an old ski lift 🤷🏻‍♂️

The past few weeks I have been contemplating about posting photos and videos from when I visited New Orleans in October 2024. With what happened in this amazing city on New Years, I didn’t know if it was appropriate to post content showing myself and friends having a good time in a place that has now had such a senseless tragedy.

After all this contemplation, I believe that it’s important for me to share this content of the amazing times had in this wonderful city, that myself and so many others have fallen in love with. New Orleans is a special place and a resilient place as we all know and I want to show why this city became important to me and why it is still an amazing place to visit and experience.

My hope for those that view these photos and videos I post in the future, is that they inspire you and convey why New Orleans is a wonderful and resilient city.

But on a lighter note, thanks to for being my unwittingly talented model for some of these photos 📸

Scenes from the Old Oak Trail at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area 🥾

This simple one-mile loop trail takes you through a portion of the pine forests adjacent to the lake and offers glimpses into the history of the surrounding land. Evidence of past farms that once sat where the park sits today can be seen where it’s being reclaimed by nature. Old fence posts with barbwire becoming one with the growing trees reminding us that nature does indeed find a way.

Oh, did you spot the woodpecker? 🌲👀

History? Culinary delights? Charm and southern hospitality? Obviously I’m talking about the small port town of Edenton, North Carolina 👀

Picture this:
After grabbing a coffee from the Edenton Coffeehouse, you stroll along the downtown waterfront where you can admire the historic Edenton Lighthouse and the many 18th century homes. Here and there you duck in and out of boutique and antique shops finding hidden treasures long forgotten. Then your stomach growls and decision time it is. Will it be the southern style seafood? The BBQ? How about wood-fired pizzas?

Heck, just get it all; you won’t be disappointed 😉

New Orleans.. I’ve never been the kind of traveler attracted to architecture but this city surely changed that 🎭

Almost like stepping into a living history lesson, New Orleans architecture is vibrant in not only color, but also culture. From the ironwork balconies in the famous French Quarter to the pastel cottages and mansion in the Garden District, all the buildings have a story and they are all begging to be told!

Have you been to New Orleans? Which neighborhood of the city was your favorite? 🎷

Views for days from atop Great River Bluffs State Park in Minnesota ⛰️

This short hike delivered an awesome look at the Mississippi River below. I took this photo over the summer while exploring Minnesota and Wisconsin (where the Mississippi starts its journey) and this week I’m headed to where it meets the ocean in Louisiana 🎺

I want to live by the water. And I’m too picky about it either, I’ll take lake view, river view, ocean view or maybe even a pond if it’s a nice clean one 🌊

Bodies of water has been something that I feel has defined my life for as long as I’ve existed. I was born in a beach town and even after moving from there when I was still a child, I was partly raised in a boat going on fishing trips with my dad and sometimes that meant just walking down to the local pond for a few hours 🎣

Then I returned to a beach town for my college years where I once again fell in love with the breezy ocean air and just the all-around relaxing environment of a coastal area. Now as an adult, I still love sitting on a beach, a dock or any other platform on the water. I love to kayak and still like to cast a long when the weather’s nice 😅

All this to simply say, I want to live by the water again.

Could you imagine living on an isolated island in the middle of Lake Superior with nothing but water surrounding you at all times? What’s worse, the island is called Devil’s Island 👀

Well for those that once tended to this lighthouse, that was their reality and honestly.. it may have not been that bad of a gig. I mean, I think we can all agree that being away from the general public isn’t always the worse thing in the world 😅

Exploring small towns is definitely a favorite pastime of mine, so I’m going to share three places you HAVE to visit in Gordonsville, Virginia ⛰️

⛰️Krecek Kakes - this coffee and breakfast shop is the perfect way to start your day when exploring Gordonsville! Their patio area is a straight up vibe and the best spot in town for a cup of ☕️
⛰️Jackson & Company Market - after that nice cup of coffee, walk right across the street to discover a fine selection of baked goods, homemade meals and more!
⛰️Well Hung Vineyard - not only does this restaurant win the most numerous name award 👀 but serves up some great dishes and even better wine, which makes it the perfect place for an end to a day exploring this Virginia mountain town 🥂

Have you ever been to Gordonsville? Make sure to save this and start planning that trip now!

Red Oak II outside of Carthage, Missouri is the closest thing to a revitalized ghost town that I’ve been too. The restored buildings amongst the old rusted out vehicles really creates an interesting setting as you walk the dirt road that circles the small town.

The original Red Oak was a small town in Missouri that eventually became a true ghost town until it was born again through the vision of an internationally famous artist that wanted to bring his hometown back to life.

If you find yourself traveling through rural Missouri, or down Route 66, Red Oak II is a must stop for a visit into the past. I for one wish this diner was still open! 👀
