No record highs? Less triple digits?? More rain chances??? What a sight for sore eyes!🤩
The worst of the heat wave looks to be behind us as we kick off a gradual cooling trend. Unfortunately, a few unlucky locations may still hit 100 this afternoon, while strong wind gusts & heavy rain will be possible again with any storms later today.
Yesterday, Armstrong County gained another reserve deputy. Dwayne Holt graduated from Amarillo College’s 129th Regional Law Enforcement Academy, and we are very proud of him! If you didn’t already know, Dwayne has been working as a dispatcher here since I became Sheriff on January 1, 2021. He also has his jailer license and has helped with inmate transports when needed. Dwayne, you are a wonderful asset to this county and to this team! CONGRATULATIONS!

Dwayne Holt with the daily Allsup’s update! We are getting so close!! Thanks for the info and images, Dwayne! They started prepping to pour at 4:30am, it was 36 degrees out. First couple trucks rolled in at 6:00am. Started stuccoing the outside and finally added a little color to the building. Facebook is being weird with the videos and photos — more in the comments!
Dwayne Holt is keeping us in the loop with the Allsup’s build! He chatted with some of the building crew, and they will be pouring 400 yards of concrete starting at 4am tomorrow! He said they have also started digging for the huge fuel tanks! **More pictures in the comments. It won’t let me add them together!
UPDATE: The snow is leaving, but the roads will be slick. Please use caution if you must get out! 🚨🚨 🌨❄️💨🌨❄️💨🚨🚨 Visibility on the road is absolutely ZERO. Do not attempt to drive in this. It is legitimately a blizzard. They were not wrong. You are not Superman. PLEASE stay home. The snow will continue to leave the region over the next few hours. Don’t put yourself or our brave first responders at risk! There was a recorded wind gust in Pampa at 87mph. This is not a joke - it’s bad, y’all.
