A more active pattern is expected to move in late tonight bringing not only chances of severe weather but also decent rainfall amounts, especially over this next 24 hours. Currently the southeastern portions of the Panhandles are seeing the best chances of accumulation over an inch, but with the threat of severe storms it is possible to see some of these amounts getting locally higher or smaller. Make sure to check back with us as the storms move in.

Posted Oct 29th @ 8 AM: After one more very warm day today, temperatures are expected to drop considerably behind a cold front tomorrow into tomorrow night. Over night lows tomorrow night into Thursday morning are expected to fall below freezing for a good portion of the northwest, while areas as far south as Amarillo even have a low chance of falling below freezing. Be sure to bring in those sensitive plants and dust off your jackets!

BREAKING NEWS: Hall County Sheriff Tom Heck tonight released the following statement about the capture of Seth Altman of Memphis.

"On October 25, 2024, at approximately 5:03 p.m. the Hall County Sheriff’s Office received a hit confirmation request from the Fort Worth Police Department for Seth Altman. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the warrant for a charge of attempted capital murder of a peace officer. Seth Altman was taken into custody without incident by the Fort Worth Police Department . He was then transported to the Tarrant County Jail where he is being held on a bond of one million dollars."

Altman was wanted on the charge of attempted capital murder of a peace officer following the October 3 shooting of Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant.
