Since the TCV team loves Jalen Hurts, let us introduce you to Nicole Lynn, the brilliant agent behind his career. In 2019, she broke barriers by becoming the first Black woman to represent an NFL draft pick. This University of Oklahoma graduate started as an NFL Players Association intern and rose to become the first female sports agent at PlayersRep before becoming President of Football Operations.

In 2021, she blessed us with her autobiography, Agent You, inspiring the next generation. And get this - her story was so amazing that 50 Cent announced a drama series based on her career for Starz, with Lynn herself as executive producer! Get it, girl!

I know we're going to be snacking on some BBQ during the game, so let’s give props to Henry Perry, a Black entrepreneur who pioneered Kansas City-style barbecue in the early 1900s. Selling smoked meats in the city’s garment district, Perry’s style became the blueprint for Kansas City’s barbecue culture. His influence earned him the title “Father of Kansas City Barbecue”, and in 2014, he was inducted into the American Royal Barbecue Hall of Fame. The next time ya'll enjoy that plate of ribs, remember—you’re tasting Black history!
