Resolving Vitreous Hemorrhage in the setting of
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This case series presents 2 patients (67 and 58-year-old females) with resolving vitreous hemorrhage in the setting of diabetic retinopathy. Both patients had around 50% of the retina still visible and the hemorrhage was confined at the posterior vitreous cavity near the retina. Hence, partial pan-retinal photocoagulation was feasibly applied. On B-scan, both cases showed a liquified vitreous with a complete posterior vitreous detachment (PVD).

Long-Term Complete Remission of Recurrent Unresectable Type B2 under Analogue Treatment. Case Report
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thymic epithelial tumors (TETs), including thymoma and thymic carcinoma, are a rare and clinically heterogeneous group of neoplasms. Surgery remains the cornerstone of therapy for early-stage TETs. In advanced or recurrent, unresectable TETs chemotherapy is a standard of care. Platinum-containing chemotherapy is the most common, also used in the neoadjuvant setting. There is no standard second-line treatment for TETs after chemotherapy failure. We present a case of a 39-year-old woman with recurrent unresectable thymoma type B2 located in the thorax, with positive somatostatin receptor scintigraphy, who was treated with somatostatin analog without prednisolone for 94 months. She underwent prior neoadjuvant chemotherapy, non-radical surgery (R2) with adjuvant irradiation, and salvage chemotherapy. She started long-acting, intramuscular octreotide at the initial dose of 20 mg and continued 30 mg every month since April 2011.

Albumin and its Application---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Albumin and its Application
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The advantages of albumin over less costly alternative fluids continue to be debated. Many scientific articles were devoted to the clinical analysis of the use of albumin in acute illness as well as its comparison with other fluid regimens. However, the lack of fundamental knowledge about the physical and chemical properties of commercial albumin generates many unpromising discussions about the effectiveness of the use of albumin among practitioners and medical scientists. The manuscript provides information about the different variants of commercial albumin, the mechanisms of their action, indications, and contraindications to use. The presented information is based on fundamental knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of commercial albumin. This manuscript is not only educational information, but also is a guide to action for clinicians.

Five-micron-thick sections were cut from the paraffin blocks, which were evaluated for immunohistochemistry. Immunostaining was performed using an automated staining machine (Dako Autostainer Link 48). The following primary antibodies were used: CK7, CD10, vimentin, CD117 (C-KIT), CD3 and CD20. Markers were ready to use provided from Dako. Antigen retrieval was done in PT link using the Dako system (Target Retrieval Solution, High pH, Concentrated 50× Dako). Blocking of endogenous peroxidase activity was performed using Dako peroxidase blocking reagent. Slides were incubated with the primary antibody and then with a universal stainaing kit horseradish peroxidase (HRP).

A Rare Cause of Respiratory Distress: Lobar Emphysema. A Case Report
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Congenital lobar emphysema (CLE) is a rare congenital abnormality of the lung characterized by hyperinflation of one or more pulmonary lobes with compression of the surrounding structures, causing respiratory distress. Its prevalence is one in 20,000-30,000 live births, being more frequently observed in newborns and young infants' males. Diagnosis of CLE is based on a high level of suspicion and established by combined clinical, radiological and histological findings.

Prediction of Subjective Well-Being: A Machine Learning Approach
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Happy people tend to live longer and have better physical and mental health. Adolescence is a critical period since some results suggest that positive youth development can improve longterm health. Furthermore, adolescent depression was a strong predictor of mental disorders during adulthood. For example, many investigators had reported that undergraduate students suffered from depression and are vulnerable to a su***de attempt and completed su***de. In a meta-analysis, Ibrahim also concluded that undergraduate students were more prone to depression with high prevalence.
