The impact of cancer is undeniable, affecting not only the lives of those who are diagnosed but also their loved ones. In this regard, six artists have come together to showcase their creative works that have been influenced by their personal experiences with cancer. Whether they are supporters, survivors, or thrivers, each artist has a unique story to tell, and their works are a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.

Despite the differences in their artistic styles and mediums, the common thread that runs through their works is the message of perseverance and hope. Through their art, these artists aim to inspire others who may be going through similar experiences, to find the courage to keep fighting and to never lose hope.

Their works are a reflection of the emotional rollercoaster that comes with a cancer diagnosis. From the initial shock and fear to the moments of joy and hope, these artists have captured the essence of the cancer experience in their own unique way. Some have used vibrant colors and bold strokes to convey a sense of strength and resilience, while others have opted for a more subdued palette to evoke a sense of calm and serenity.

Breast cancer is a harsh reality that affects so many lives, but it's especially devastating for Black women.
This is why TOUCH, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance, is fighting for equitable representation of Black women in the breast cancer space — from clinical trials for new treatments to resources addressing the specific needs of this community. This year, with the help of their Mission Partner Bright Pink, TOUCH launched a new campaign — For the Love of My Gurls. This campaign is all about connecting with a younger generation of Black women and empowering them to start a proactive breast health journey.
It's about taking the scariness out of breast cancer and turning it into something that we can all talk about openly, like it's a regular thing. So let's spread the love, spread the message, and make sure that all women are equipped with the knowledge and tools to take charge of their breast health.

Asha Miller’s cancer journey began with a routine surgery in 2016, during which she lost an o***y and experienced a significant decline in her mental health. Seeking a way to improve her mental and physical well-being, she discovered fitness and became addicted to it.

Two months after becoming a fitness instructor, she found a small bump under her arm, which turned out to be cancer. Despite being told that it was likely nothing to worry about, she persisted in pursuing further testing and was ultimately diagnosed with stage III cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes. She underwent six months of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy with reconstruction, and 36 rounds of radiation.

📚️cW Winter Library: The Joy Choice 😃

We sat down with sustainable behavior change scientist and author of 'The Joy Choice', Michelle Segar, PhD, MPH, MS, to discuss the struggle with sustaining a consistently healthy lifestyle 🧘🏋️🥗🥑

“I’ve been studying why people don’t sustain self-care behaviors like physical activity for almost 30 years,” explains Segar. The impetus behind Segar’s interest in this topic came from a study she conducted of cancer survivors approximately four years past treatment.
