Since the USA was founded, and even before, military men and women have been an integral part of our nation. They are the very fabric of what defines us, then and now. Without their service, the USA would not exist. Our military personnel serve proudly, bravely, and dutifully. We owe them our gratitude. They honored their commitment – we must honor ours. However, we the people have not always held

up our end of the bargain. Budgets, politics and public awareness are factors. The goal of VET TALK is to increase public understanding of ALL veterans issues and to effect positive change. The show provides critical information for veterans trying to navigate the benefits system TODAY! The weekly conversation reveals what veterans face when they return…from the Veterans Administration, from the community and from their families. The show hosts, Antonio Correa (U.S. Marine Corps) and Fred Newson (U.S. Navy), also shed light on what military families go though during base transfers, deployment, and return from combat. Prominent guests include elected officials, government agency staff, and representatives of non-profit groups that help.

Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Take time away from making April Fools jokes today to remember those who fought in the Battle of Okinawa, which began today in 1945 and lasted for 82 days. The “typhoon of steel” was one of the bloodiest battles on the Pacific front of WWII and led, in part, to the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Happy 240th!

On November 10, 1775, a Corps of Marines was created by a resolution of Continental Congress. Since that date many thousand men have borne the name "Marine". In memory of them it is fitting that we who are Marines should commemorate the birthday of our corps by calling to mind the glories of its long and illustrious history.
