Over the last couple years, I’ve made thousands of these belt loops. Such a small and simple piece. Anymore I just go through the motions and don’t think much of the process. But sometimes I remember how blessed I am to have the capability to make things like these with such ease. Not only with ease, but the process is enjoyable. And most importantly, it’s quick (without losing any quality).

Trying out the newest addition to the shop. I got a Hot Foil Stamping Machine from weaverleathersupply.
This thing lets me stamp names and initials in a gold or silver color. So today I made a simple little fob with our sons initials, for my wife. I’m excited to for all the ways I can put this machine to use.

Yesterdays Saga.
Someone reached out to me over a year ago and shared their bad experience with their last few “leather” duffel bags. For some reason they thought I could help (based off of the work they’ve seen me do or some crap like that). Anyways, it was an honor. Although I was interested, I was very busy and not up to the task. These kinds of projects and expectations are not something I take lightly. Well, the customer said they’d wait… and for a year, they waited.
Im positive there are many crafters out there who could have knocked something like this out in no time. But for me, it took well over a year. How the heck am I supposed to make something for somebody who actually thinks I’m good at what I do and trusts me with their high expectations? It’s tough. But for a year I never forgot about this request. I intentionally and diligently kept my mind open to the different ideas and techniques I could use to make a bag that would live up to this reputation that proceeded me.
Well, after a year of many many different thought sessions, research sessions, and finally a day of trial, I took the leap and made the first prototype. It’s really not that big of a deal, but I am making it one anyways. I love my job.
Every product has its journey and the duffels is just getting started.
TLDR: I made my first duffel bag.

I bought a new machine last week. Add this one to the long list of new additions to the shop: Weaver’s Mighty Wonder 8 Ton press.
I’ve been waiting a long time for a reason to pull the trigger on one of these. I needed something to handle some of the larger dies I have and this was a quick and easy solution. It comes put together ready to go which is really nice and simple. I might build a little platform to give it a little more height but other than that it’s perfect.
