Ponce de Leon Hot Springs | Taos, NM ๐๐ซถ
Stepping into these springs was by far one of the most cleansing things we've experienced! Once a hot spring resort now long abandoned, it is open to the public to enjoy. The land is owned and blessed by the Pueblo tribe, so please be respectful as always :) Located 7ish miles out of Toas in the Carson National Forest, sits a mile and a half long out-and-back trail that leads you to these glistening springs. We couldn't believe how clean, clear and pleasantly warm the water was!!! It sits at about 80-95ยฐ depending on the time of year. This was a moderate hike with parking at the beginning, (trail accesible via alltrails app) and limited shade throughout. The NM sun is no joke and can make it a bit more challenging. Wear sunscreen/hats/protection forsure and bring lots of water, maybe a few light snacks. The adjacent spring is for the Pueblo only, don't use that one, the big main pool is where you'll swim. Free admission, day use only, and no pets or soap allowed in the springs. If you have any other questions about this destination, comment or reach out to us! ๐๐ We were able to bring my mom and her bestie on this trip in celebration of my moms birthday and it was magical. More NM posts to come ๐ค
