A huge thank you to Tucson Comic-Con for having me. What a well run, top notch event, and the crowd was loving Mercy Sparx. Got to chat and hang out with everyone from Terry Moore and Jon Layman to James O'Barr and Shannon Denton, and so many more. The crowd was steady from Friday all the way to the last hour on Sunday, and genuinely seeking new indie comics to read. Lots of new readers picked up the hardcovers and omnibus sets, and I was able to get copies of The Disavowed convention special preview into several hands too. The Pulidos, Scott Phelps and the whole crew are building something special with this one.

Hi everyone! This is Josh! Founder of Devil's Due. Facebook disabled my personal page for reasons unexplained (maybe hacked?) so this is becoming my personal/professional page. As Devil's Due Studios is focused more on my own projects, including those published by Devil's Due, and those partnering with other publishers, this seems to make the most sense. I mean, it already has 11,000 - so for all things Mercy Sparx, The Disavowed, The Encoded, Club Nephilim, ArkWorld, and more, I'll be posting here for the time being.

SDCC is a wrap. Hard to believe this has to be close to my 20th, and 23 years since the first one in 01. This year Devil's Due Comics teamed up with Massive Publishing for the con. I had a great time signing copies of The Disavowed preview ashcan at the booth while the Massive crew kept everyone at the booth filled up on glizzies! They did a fantastic job on the preview book covers (especially that crazy metal cover with the raised blood splatter FX), and the response overall has been great.

This is also one of the only shows left where you can see so many actual established pro creators, editors and publishers all hanging out after hours for "bar con" time, all in one spot just talking shop. Definitely an energy that can't be caught through zooms calls. I think even if I didn't go to the show I'd still have a great time bouncing back and forth between the Bayfront and Marriott.

Anyway, back to the home base for a while, and to the keyboard, sending more Mercy Sparx and Club Nephilim to print, and telling the world about The Disavowed!

From the creative mind of Josh Blaylock that deconstructs the ‘80s retro phenomena with a brutal twist. The series, described by early reviewers as G.I.Joe meets The Boys, features interior artwork from former Marvel and DC Comics artist Pop Mhan. This new five-issue comic series follows the rise and fall of a 1980s military super team formed to stop an esoteric terrorist cult and its re-emergence in the present day.

The series will include an impressive list of guest cover artists, including Michael Golden, Tim Seeley, Dave Johnson, Steve Kurth, and Adam Riches- some of whom will be familiar to longtime fans of Devil’s Due Studios and their licensed retro titles from the early aughts (G.I.Joe, G.I.Joe vs. Transformers, Voltron, Micronauts).

This polarizing title celebrates and satirizes nostalgic icons of the past while holding nothing sacred in its depiction of the decades-long, action-packed, bloody war between these two rival factions. By pushing the envelope with these story archetypes, Blaylock has created something completely new in The Disavowed.
