ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. — A Fairmont man has been charged in connection with the death of his brother, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Lacey Cole Jr., 69, was charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and discharging a firearm within an enclosure to incite fear. He was booked into the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.

Deputies responded at about 10:50 a.m. on Monday to the 1400 block of Williamson Road for a shooting, the sheriff’s office said. William Pressley, 71, of Fairmont, was found dead when they arrived.

PRAIRIE, Miss. — A shooting in Monroe County left one person dead and one person injured.

Monroe County Sheriff Kevin Crook said the shooting happened Sunday night, Dec. 1 at approximately 10:00 on Wilson Hill Loop in the Prairie community.

Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley identified the victim as Myron Rowe, 36.

The victim lived at the house where the shooting happened, the coroner said.

An autopsy will be performed.
