Just Like Dad’s Pizza

Yeah yeah, I'm not posting nearly as much these days, but there's still lots happening in the background. The mad scientist in me is forever seeking to formulate the very best recipe, hopefully to be used when that pizza truck dream finally takes hold.

I rolled this 96 hr. cold fermented sourdough out at a work event where I baked 7 different pizzas for our crew at our end of the year picnic. I was very, very pleased with the results!

What you see here is a bacon lovers pie. I love me some bacon, bacon, bacon! Who doesn't?

I'm only posting the one pic today with the hopes of using the others I took to get back in the social media game!

I'm a little late to post, but this Early Riser pie was right on time!

Here is my take on the classic bacon, egg and cheese, featuring a sourdough base covered in everything bagel seasoning, with American, triple cheddar and mozzarella cheeses and a generous layer of bacon, bacon, bacon!

I shared this at work at the reviews were through the roof.......

Only 12 weeks old and Orzo has officially discovered what all the pizza people already know… 7-11 ground tomatoes are pretty special.

I'm very late showing off my father's day gift but better late than never as they say. Anthony and Kim bought me a pizza axe for Father's day. I was really skeptical about using it as I feared that it would not cut my pizza well enough. Damn was I wrong, this pizza axe is absolutely legit. I bet it would work really well chopping veggies and toppings for your pizza as well.

Doing my best to replicate Roman style pinsa, which I was lucky enough to enjoy while visiting Rome a couple of weeks ago. I still need to work on my dough recipe and incorporating a little bit more air into the crust but I'm pretty happy with this first effort.

We had the most amazing time, learning how to make some authentic Italian dishes at InRomeCooking in Rome, Italy last week. Under the direction of michelin star chef Michela Bartoloni , we ate, we drank, learned and then ate again! Michaela was so much fun and made the experience that much more awesome!

When in Rome, do what Roman's do, and have your own amazing culinary experience. It was one of many awesome things we did while visiting Italy. We'll definitely be back!
