Last night was about taking out for dinner and supporting local, so I picked up an appetizer and a pizza on my way home from work over at Anthony's Pizzeria and Deli in Wallingford. It was awesomely thin, but not as crisp, albeit it was in a box to travel. It was solid and deserves to be tried again in-house. If you're in the area, be sure to check them out!

Big shout out to the good people at Perfect Crust pizza liners for their gift that will never, ever cause me to share a floppy pizza💪

Their paper liners with little embossed bumps absorb any moisture or grease and allow air flow under your crust while in a pizza box, keeping your pizza nice and crisp the way God intended it to be😁

This was not my favorite looking Sicilian I've ever made. Not even close. I had a vision when I dressed it, but it looks a little meh to me. The good news is, our friends who I delivered to thought it was incredible and sent me a message singing it's praises and that's all that matters❤️

This 68% hydration square pie was parbaked at 500 degrees with a thin coat of sauce and layered with sliced whole milk mozzarella cheese. I then finished it with generous dollops of tomato and vodka sauce.

I'll nail the appearance next time🤞

The "Stinger" is back again! This time, for the family who wanted something with a little heat🔥

This popular combo used by many, features Rosa Grande pepperoni, fresh jalapeño peppers and AR's Hot honey. This is easily one of my favorite pizza combos to date. Not only does it taste awesome, but you gotta love the colors too.

This hybrid Grandma/Sicilian pizza (a little thicker than your typical Grandma, by design)was a big hit for a recent family visit.

The dough went through multiple stretch and folds for the better part of the day and then cold proofed overnight. I removed the dough from the fridge the next morning, let it relax, and then stretched it to the 12 x 18 pan's edge. I lightly oiled the dough, sprinkled it with fresh pressed garlic, and parbaked it at 500 degrees. I then let the dough cool for some time and then layered it with sliced Grande whole milk mozzarella and then dressed it accordingly using 7-11 ground tomatoes, seasoned with fresh basil, garlic, sea salt and a little sugar and then baked it to perfection and finished with a generous sprinkling of Parmigiano Reggiano.

Last night, I posted about a "sweet" care package that I received from Hormel Foods. I teased it out there just to see if anybody had any good guesses on what it might be. In any case, here's the big reveal!
🥓It's their Black Label Cinnamon Toast Crunch rubbed bacon. Yeah, this might not be exciting to you but to me, this is gold 🪙
It has been my 🦄 ever since I saw a post about it months ago, but unfortunately it's a limited release product and not available anywhere near me. Well, I wanted to give a shout out to Katie at Hormel Pepperoni for going way out of her way to seek this product out and surprise me with it. I hope it tastes as good as I think it will, but most important is the incredible customer service shown by Katie and Hormel. I gave up on getting my hands on this a while ago, only to get a message a couple of weeks ago from Katie stating that she had a big surprise for me🫢

Thank you Katie and Hormel for going above and beyond with your customer service. I can't wait to conjure up something special with it. Stay tuned!

🍸Vodka sauce on pizza? Absolutely. Fresh mozzarella? A must. The creamy tang of vodka sauce pairs perfectly with the rich, melty goodness of fresh mozz. It's a game-changing combo, I don't make nearly enough.

For this one, I cheated and used a fresh vodka sauce from Connecticut Fresh Food and Produce, which to be honest, is some of the best I've ever had, so why not support local business. They sell it in either pint or quart containers.

🧀The fresh mozzarella was from BelGioioso, It's their "lower" moisture, sliced fresh mozzarella, which I found to be awesome! Other than a quick pat to dry out of habit, I did not need to lay it out and let it sit for a long period of time, nor did I need to drain it before using. It was good to go right out of the package, which is really nice when using fresh mozzarella and baking indoors. I'd highly recommend you try it. It was delicious, had great melt and stretch, and, as mentioned, very easy to use. I found it at Target, but I'm sure it's available elsewhere too.

So I received a "sweet", savory surprise from our friends at Hormel Pepperoni this afternoon. This was completely unexpected, and I am stoked to have it in my possession. I cannot wait to feature it I'm one of my upcoming pizzas.
