As SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY draws to a close, I would like to thank each of you who have been a part of making the studio a success. I appreciate each of you from the bottom of my heart for investing in yourselves and therefore investing in me + my family.

Beyond just that, you help support integral members of my team. If you’ve ever been to the studio for a session, you are well aware that I don’t work alone. I have talented hair + makeup artists, second shooters, assistants, and studio partners - every single one representing their own small business.

While a business may be small in size, it’s never small to those who have dedicated their lives to serving others by offering up their own bit of themselves in the form of art to share with the world. To those of you who have found value in my vulnerability and in the vulnerability of badass women just like us, thank you. I appreciate you.

I also want to REMIND YOU that small businesses don’t work without support. So if you want to continue seeing art that matters being made in your own hometown, it’s time for you to make that investment in yourself. I’m absolutely in awe that my job consists of making art with badass women. I swear to y’all that if I won the lottery tomorrow, I would still do this. I’ve never connected more with my higher self than I do when I’m helping each of you connect with your goddess within. If you need help connecting with her, I don’t know what it is about draping your fine ass in silk sheets but it works every time.

The last two days have opened up the doors for me to talk about the bo***ir art I get to create for my clients, and I’m pretty sure I just picked up a new booking at the dermatologist office. 🤣
For real tho… My client has been showing THIS PHOTO to folks and saying “Look… this is ME,” and I love that so much. Bo***ir isn’t about getting you nekkid or pushing your boundaries… it’s an invitation to view yourself through kinder eyes who see you for the beautiful goddess you are.
This is my life’s work. I have intentionally cut back other facets of my business to focus more on serving women through the magic of bo***ir.

Today is my 13th anniversary.
And Hubs gets a bo***ir album every anniversary. But this year, I’m giving y’all a tiny peek into his gift. I cropped it in for decency + not upset the cens0rs, but honestly the best parts aren’t shown. How demure of me, right?
My HMUA is also a super talented photographer and snapped these of me.
I’ve spent a lot of this last year in gratitude for my business, but it all starts with the incredible support I have at home with my honey.
I’m also thankful that when I bust out into a random song + dance routine on a Sunday to “Bed Chem”, Hubs is genuinely entertained by my shenanigans + plays along.
13 years into this thing, and we still have so much fun together.

There are so many reasons for me to love what I do… I get to create art for a living, which is pretty damn cool… but being able to have a hand in helping women increase their own confidence is HUGE. Growing up, I never get felt comfortable in my own body. But now, I have come to understand that every woman has something they are insecure about but rarely, if ever, is that what everyone else around them sees.
I can honestly say that every, single woman I have ever photographed is absolutely stunning. When I get to know each of you (that hour+ in hair and makeup can be a whole therapy session), it blows me away that I get to photograph real life badasses.
You are worthy. You are beautiful. And I think we would have really good chem.

I have 3 product collections available for clients to purchase to commemorate their session. The largest is a big ole sucker that includes an album, USB with images in high resolution, a storage box, and of course all the perks that come with your session - hair + makeup, client closet access, + 3+ hours of alone time with me (a dream, right? 🤣)
But when I talk about the largest album set, I often describe it as for “my girl who is going through something”.

I've had the honor of holding hands with women battling cancer, walking through a divorce, or navigating unspeakable grief. One of the best parts of 2024 for me personally was reconnecting with @lindzp2 - a dear friend from high school. Not having been together since we were teenagers, get us together and it’s the same two girls we always were. Friendships like this one are among the things that truly matter most. Fast forward to after we wrapped L’s session, and I was still on a high from the time we spent together (with @laidbacklizard doing hair + makeup in the studio with us) having the best girls day when she sends me a text that says “I have to do a video about my experience for you to share.” SAY LESS! But when I received it and started watching + listening to the impact we make at the studio, I was in puddles of tears. Part of what L noted she loved about the studio was set with intention but some parts just happened - me hanging her lingerie isn’t part of a business model… it’s just me taking care of my girls. There was never a guide that said “to be a successful bo***ir photographer, hang your clients’ lingerie”. I just know after nearly 40 years of experience as a woman how to be a champion for other women - in big ways and small ways. I used to be an attorney for abused women. Now I operate a lighthouse on a hill for women to come and receive love, light, and of course thirst traps ✨🤣 L, we LOVE you at the studio and can’t wait to have you back THIS MONTH!!! I love seeing something operate on a slow burn… The new studio, for example, keeps allowing me to flex my creative muscle in new ways. One of the things that makes a bo***ir photographer really great is honing in on their clients’ desires. The studio is a safe place meant to make dreams + fantasies come true. I’ve been at this art form for a few years now, but I honestly feel like I’m just now getting into the era of my career where I’m no longer trying to build a portfolio - now I’m trying to stretch my creativity + find new ways to make my clients feel absolutely amazing. In my first full calendar year of having the studio, I brought my Ambassadors along for the journey. I had a vision of bringing women together of all ages, shapes, + sizes to come together and support one another in all facets of life. They each made an initial financial investment to help scale the studio. Each of these women (and the several who weren’t able to make it) have such a special place in my heart and in my life. Thankful doesn’t even begin to cover it. @emilydischler hand-lettered this camera ornament for me, and it will forever be a reminder of this incredible year with these incredible women.
