On 25th January 1842, Prince Albert Edward (later King Edward VII), eldest son of Queen Victoria, was baptised at St. George's Chapel, Windsor.

Queen Victoria’s journal:

“Bells were singing & guns firing when I awoke. I offered up earnest prayers that the Almighty would grant this blessing to today's solemn religious act, & that our little Boy might become a true & virtuous Christian in every respect, & that he may grow up like his beloved Father! It had been snowing, but the morning was fine. […] — We went upstairs to see the Children, & the Dss of Buccleuch came with us, to practice how she was to take the Child from Mrs Roberts to give it to the Archbishop. — The sun began to shine brightly & the scene became most animated. — Bands playing, Troops marching in all directions, Foot Guards, the 72nd, the Blues on horseback, & Artillery. It put me so in mind of my wedding day. Began dressing in the Robes of the Garter, which, I, Albert, & all the Knights of the Garter, present at the Ceremony, wore. I had my large diamond Diadem on. We drove together to St. George's Chapel, the Baby, following in another carriage with Mrs Southey, Mrs Roberts & Mrs Brough. We waited a few moments in the Sacristy, till the Sponsors & Royal personages had taken their places, & then entered the Chapel. We were all on a sort of "haut pas", quite close to the Altar & it is impossible to describe the wonderful imposing effect of the truly beautiful old chapel with its banners, the music, the lights on the Altar, & the Bishops & Clergy standing before it. It filled me with holy reverent, & peaceful feelings. The idea of it's being the last resting place of those related to me, including my Father, had nothing painful in it, but on the contrary was calming for the spot is so fine, peaceful & hollowed. The Child was brought in, as soon as it was time for him to be given to the Archbishop. The Dss of Buccleuch took him from Mrs Roberts, & placed him in the Archbishop's arms. He was as good as "P***y" had been at her Christening. […]

On 25th January 1858, Princess Victoria, eldest child of Queen Victoria, married Crown Prince Frederick of Prussia at the Chapel Royal of St. James's Palace,
London.

Queen Victoria’s journal:

“The 2nd most eventful day in my life, as regarded feelings, for I felt almost as if it were I that was being married over again, only much more nervous, […] Whilst dressing dear Vicky came in to see me, looking, composed, & in a fine, quiet disposition. This relieved me greatly. We went down to breakfast with dear Alexandrine. Of course Fritz, whom I tenderly embraced, & who was much moved, was there too. The dear Princess also came in for the moment. — My Dressing room was arranged for Vicky & she began dressing at about ½ p. 10. Our hair was done by Nestor, one after the other. When she was ready she came through in her bridal attire, looking very pretty & nice. Her dress was of white moire antique, trimmed with 3 flounces of Honiton lace & wreaths & spray of orange flowers & myrtle. The wreath & veil were to match & the train was the same as the dress. My dress was of mauve moire antique & silver, trimmed with Honiton lace. I wore my Regal Diadem & the crown diamonds. My train was of velvet also trimmed with lace. Vicky was daguerreotyped in my room, & she & her dear father & I, together, but I trembled so that it has come out indistinct. Then, it was time to go. The sun shining brightly, 1000s out, since very early, — shouting, — ringing of bells, &c. — Albert, Uncle & the 2 Boys went 1rst, then the 3 girls in pink satin trimmed with Newport lace, Alice with a wreath of cornflowers & marguerites, the 2 others only with sprays of them, in their hair. The 4 Boys wore Highland dress. The Hall was full of people. The flourish of trumpets & cheering of thousands, made my heart sink within me, & I could hardly command myself. Vicky drove in the carriage with me, sitting opposite. At St. James's Palace we want into a prettily arranged retiring room, where Uncle, my dear Albert & the 8 Bridesmaids were waiting. They looked so nice, in white tulle dresses with wreaths & bouquets of pink roses & white heather. […]

On 25th January 1893, Princess Margaret, daughter of Princess Victoria and granddaughter of Queen Victoria, married Frederick Charles of Hesse at Hohenzollern Stadtschloss, Berlin.

Queen Victoria’s journal:

“Very foggy all day. — Did not go out in the morning. — Thought so much of this day, when dear little Mossy was to be married to Fritz Carl of Hesse (Cassell) & of dear Vicky's wedding day on this same date 35 years ago! May God bless the young couple, but it is terrible for poor dear Vicky to lose her last daughter. — Arthur's children came to luncheon. — In spite of the fog, took a short drive with F***y D. & Mary H. — Gave a large dinner in the Durbar Room, of which I annex the list, & gave out the healths of "my grandchildren Pce & Pss Frederick Charles of Hesse". Heard before I went to bed that the marriage had gave off well. — The Marine Band played. —“
