In collaboration with the Mecklenburg County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, we aim to address common challenges and offer solutions by sharing insights from professionals and organizations that provide essential information and services each month.
In November, we are highlighting the Mecklenburg County ABC Board's Community Investment and Grant Programs. Many people and organizations have expressed interest in learning more about these programs. This session will be saved and available under the Community Mental Health tab on all our Radio One station websites. Ms. Kayla Hickman, the Community Investment Program Director for the Mecklenburg County ABC Board, will be providing detailed information about the ABC Grant programs.

Sheriff McFadden’s First Interview After Controversies
Less than a week after apologizing for leaked audio containing racial slurs, Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden spoke exclusively with WBT’s Brett Jensen in a 40-minute interview addressing controversies. Topics ranged from racism and jail deaths to workplace issues and his recent meeting with the N.C. Sheriff’s Association. McFadden described the conversation as honest and reflective, emphasizing accountability and the challenges of leadership.
