A UNC-based South Asian Affairs Platform

Monsoon is a magazine and advocacy platform that seeks to hold a space for the UNC South Asian diaspora to explore and express our identities. We aim to do so while reckoning with the history of racism and other forms of hate within our community through education, artistic expression, and mobilization.

Monsoon is back for another year!!!!!! Our first meeting will be held on Thursday, October 12th at 5pm in room 202 of the Curtis Media Center! EVERYONE is welcome to join us and learn more about our club as we discuss editing, designing, and publishing for this year’s edition🎉 Feel free to reach out with any questions at all, SEE YOU THERE!!!!!

The collab you’ve been waiting for ;) We are so excited to announce the Official Bhangra Sutra Afterparty and Monsoon Magazine Launch Party presented in collaboration with , , and . Proceeds will go to our charity of choice, the Jai Vakeel Foundation, to support children with intellectual and learning disabilities.

Our theme for this semester’s print magazine is Kaleidoscope! We’re accepting submissions until march 21 for any types of content and the form to submit is on our website under “about”. Send in your content to be featured.

Monsoon is accepting new members for the spring semester! Apply by Feb 1st to join our community and help us produce our new print magazine. If you have any interest in content creation and editing, graphic/web design, outreach, or are just looking to meet some new people, we’d love to have you! Though we are a South Asian interest org, we are not South Asian exclusive :)
