Burnout needs a serious revival, or I'll have to dig out my ancient gaming rig and get my nostalgia fix.

The ridiculously catchy 'We are the lazy generation!' tune is forever seared in my brain, and I'm oddly proud of it.

I vividly recall snagging the game in 2004 and my 13-year-old mind being blown away by the unadulterated awesomeness of the intro cutscene alone.

Even now, few game trailers get me as hyped as that Burnout 3 intro cutscene did, and it's more than just rose-tinted glasses.

I deeply miss that era of gaming...

Incoming gaming rant:

If any company can afford to pay graphic artists it's Activision. Please do not financially support this type of behavior.

Soon, more and more of the game will be AI generated, it's just a matter of time.

As big as Call of Duty is in the industry, this needs to stop immediately. This will eventually only benefit the executives at the top while players and employees suffer through low effort projects or lost jobs.

I never thought I'd say this and maybe I'm just jaded today but...I think I might be done with gaming soon.

If you know me you'd know how truly outlandish this sounds coming from me and how much gaming has been apart of my life since I was a child. It's incredibly tough to potentially walk away, however, continuing to stay will not improve things either.

It's only getting worse in my opinion and I don't see how it gets better anytime soon. It's so depressing and yet infuriating to see an industry you love so dearly spiral downwards into something that doesn't respect players' time or money.

Does gaming as whole suck ass right now? Is this just me?

Digital-only consoles, always online games, pointless crossovers in games where they don't belong(Call of Duty and crossovers), public beta tests have turned into glorified demos before launch, microtransaction hellscapes, rushed and unfinished games at launch, $70 game prices, games are piecemealed through Battlepasses/Seasons, studios who were once great turned into soulless, money-hungry corporations (Blizzard, EA, Ubisoft) and live service aspects shoved into every game where im expected to play one game endlessly until the end of time. I'm sure there's more that I'm missing.

Yes, we have bigger games with better graphics and we can play cross-platform wherever we'd like. With every upside we have I feel there's twice as many downsides.

Does anyone else feel this way or am I "a grumpy old man yelling at clouds" situation?

I feel this is a MASSIVE problem looming on the horizon. I am guilty of buying most games digitally but these past few years have shown me that's not the way to go especially when online-only games are being shut down.
