Huskies & Housewolves in Urgent Need

Huskies & Housewolves in Urgent Need This page is dedicated to northern breeds in need of rescue, fosters and forever homes. I have been a husky's person since 1985. A legit sled dog team. Pledge.

I am a life long lover of animals of all kinds, especially dogs and horses. My family (myself and my grown kids) have 5 rescue huskies collectively. They bring all of us so much joy and laughter, along with the dog hair. Smart, intelligent, fun loving, happy and exuberant, huskies are wonderful family dogs and running/hiking buddies and, being pack animals, generally get along well with all other

dogs. This page is dedicated to helping strays, street dogs, shelter dogs and owner surrenders find their way to a loving forever home, either through rescue, re-homing or adoption. All shelter dogs need pledges to make it out alive and into rescue. Pledging means promising to donate a certain amount, ONCE the dog is rescued by a bona fide rescue organization. Once the dog is safely out of the building and into a rescue, the post will be updated with info on how to honor your pledge to the rescue. NEVER HONOR A PLEDGE UNTIL the rescue info is posted, jailbreak or freedom ride photos are posted. If you have any questions, please ask here and/or send a PM before honoring. There are scammers that lurk on the rescue sites, trying to divert pledges intended to save dogs on death row. Stealing life saving funds intended for an animal in dire straits is the lowest of the low, one of the most despicable things someone could do. Most rescues are 501(c)(3) charity organizations and will have a federal EIN number. Most will also be listed on Charity Navigator so you can check to see if they are legit. Pledges are made in the comments on each dog's post. Any amount helps attract rescue interest. It is costly to rescue even a perfectly healthy animal. Most rescues have a guarantee that they will take the dog back if for some reason you are unable to keep it. Pledges help the rescues defray such costs such a veterinary exams and treatment, neuter and spay, transportation, medical boarding, and foster care. Adoptions are at all all time low, owner surrenders are at an all time high and cruelty and abuse is ever increasing. Many times fosters are needed for these dogs in order to be rescued from the streets or a shelter. Many rescues are foster based, meaning that the dog can not be taken off the streets or tagged and rescued from the shelter unless a dedicated foster can be found. A foster home gives rescued dogs a safe place to land while their veterinary needs are evaluated and treated, where the dog can decompress, learn to feel safe and understand what it is to be loved by a human. Fostering is free as the rescue picks up all expenses. I am sickened and disgusted at the treatment of shelter and stray animals as well as the cruelty and apathy some people are capable of. I vacillate between anger, tears and heartbreak when I see the never ending number of wonderful, adoptable huskies being killed in shelters across this country. Many if not most shelters are kill shelters. This means the dogs are killed if there is no space. Lets be clear and not sugarcoat it...the correct word is killed. Deaths for most shelter dogs is not being gently put to sleep, wrapped in the loving arms and washed by the tears of the people who love him and stay with him until the final breath as he crosses the Rainbow Bridge.. This is not euthanasia either. Euthanasia is the practice of intentionally ending life to eliminate pain and suffering. What happens in the shelters is not euthanasia. Perfectly healthy dogs are dragged out of there EU cages and taken to the EU room. Many times it is not even a vet who administers the EU drugs. The dogs are terrified. They have heard the cries and smell of fear of those dogs that went down that hallway before them. Their muzzle is taped closed, their legs are bound, perhaps a chokepole is used to help contain them as they struggle to break free. It is barbaric, horrific. I do not even have the words to describe it. This page is a work in progress, created Dec 01, 2023 as starting as a place to help network these huskies and housewolves so they can find a loving forever home. Plans to to bring awareness of the atrocities happening at shelters across this country to a broader audience is also a mission of this page. Please join me and pledge for these dogs in need, share their posts with any groups or friends that might be interested in helping, offer to foster or adopt one of them. If you can foster one of them, please say so in the comments for that dog. Someone from a rescue will reach out. Share. Foster. Help save a life today.

❤️🐾❄️Our Under Dog has found furever ❄️🐾❤️

But we need your help…our naked dog needs some clothes. He’s heading to Big Sky Snow Country.

Baltic, aka Doug, one of our beautiful Kiowas House Husky Rescue Round Up Huskies, has come so far and he is the sweetest husky ever.
He wagges his tail with joy. It's just simply contagious. His Spirit shines in his eyes like the stars in the sky. We will never know or understand how he found himself lost in the shelter system. And no one came looking for him.

Judi saw a photo of this boy the day after his stray hold was up. This beautiful fluffy ball of joy with a wagging tail. Captured her heart and she knew at that moment she was going to be the voice to save his life.

So she quickly went to work networking him. Kiowas House Husky Rescue agreed to add him to our Husky Round-Up.

Kiowas House Husky Rescue requested a tag, but the shelter said he was sent to a different shelter. So we reached out the the other shelter and were told they didn't have him. Said he was at a different shelter.

Thats’s right….this underdog was lost in the California shelter system. But that just made us more determined to find this boy and get him safe.

We reached out to the 3rd shelter and were told they didn't have him. Now we are very worried so we sent Laura C in person to the 1st shelter to look for our boy.

Then we receive an email saying he has been adopted. But wait, he can’t be adpoted on 9/26/24 when he only came into the shelter on 9/25/24.

So we began an online search of all 3 shelters where we were told he was located. With each passing day he is getting closer to the long walk down to the room of no return.

We are down the rabbit hole. 5 days into looking for this boy and Laura R finally found him. He had never left the 1st shelter. He was there the whole time. They had named him Doug. They could not find him even though his animal ID had never changed.

Relief washed over us all to know we had found him, just in time. Our amazing transporter Jessica went to get our long lost boy.

Just as we were taking a deep breath, believing it was over and he was safe at last….the shelter staff brought him out. His beautiful coat was gone. They had shaved him. We all know you never shave a husky.
And this boy is headed to snow country.

Please help us share our Underdog, until he is forever home.

And now the emperor needs new clothes. If you would like to make a donation to Baltic’s closet to keep him warm during these winter months, please see ways to donate below.

We have amazing news!

Our 3 beautiful Triple JJJ huskies are ready to go all the way home. But we need to raise $1800 for transport.

Our Triple JJJ huskies are Jagger, Jumbo and Julian aka Angel.

Jagger heading to an amazing long term foster-until-adoption in South Carolina.

Jumbo is going to an amazing out of state adopter New York.

Julian aka Angel is going to his forever home in Michigan.

Jagger has been very sick with a serious URI and has had multiple trips to the vet for antibiotics, fluids, and repeat vet checks. He had to be kept separate from other dogs in home-based medical isolation boarding since he was rescued from the shelter. We are grateful he was able to receive excellent care yet still get lots of love and attention during his extended time in SoCal. And now he is ready to move on to the next chapter. He just needs a ride to get there.

So here we are, knees on the ground, begging for your help to get them all the way home

So the question is: which would the dog prefer?
Waiting for you to get home from work OR this?

For all those thinking they no longer have enough time for their dog and you want to rehome them, please reconsider.

Whenever you feel guilty about not giving your dog the best life, whenever you feel like you are working too late while your dog is at home, whenever you think about surrendering your dog because you “can’t give them the life they deserve”, just look at this picture of kennel manager Trevor Denham and the team at The City of Mobile Animal Services getting ready for dinner time. You can see one dog with his paw out waiting for his food. For these dogs locked in their kennels, this is the highlight of their day, they have absolutely nothing. Your dog would much prefer being on your sofa waiting for you to come home, rather than being stuck in here, I promise you are doing just fine. Keep them home where they belong.

❤️🐾🎉 Kiowas House Husky House Round-Up🎉🐾❤️

Help us welcome the following dogs to Kiowas House Husky Rescue!

Baltic from LA County - Lancaster
Dante from LA County - Agoura
Davey from LA County - Downey
Jagger from Moreno Valley
Jumbo from LA County - Lancaster
Loki from LA County - Lancaster
Snacks, aka Flash from Riverside - San Jacinto

This major jailbreak was a first for Kiowas House.

In the past 36 hours, a total of 7 dogs were given a full pardon and are now and forever Kiowas House Husky Rescue rescued huskies.

Six of the now former death row dogs were scheduled to die on the day they were pulled. They were literally pulled within hours of being killed. Only Baltic was not EU listed at the time of his jailbreak. But he was considered urgent…every shelter dog, whether EU listed or not, should always be considered urgent.

There are so many people we want to thank for helping make this jailbreak possible. It would not have been possible without the support of the rescue community. So many people stepped up and showed up to help us bring these dogs safely into rescue:
❤️all the networkers who posted them
❤️all the rescue community members who shared their post
❤️everyone who pledged for them
the transporters who who gave them their freedom rides
❤️the boarding facility who offered safe haven on VERY short notice
❤️the fosters who gave them safe haven, long and short term
❤️the adopters who will give them loving forever homes
❤️the shelters and shelter staff who worked with us to make it all possible

Rescue is not possible without the support of the rescue community.

IT TRULY DOES TAKE A VILLAGE!

Please see their individual posts for their jailbreak and freedom ride photos.
We will get them all individually posted soon.

❤️🐾JUMBO, What a beautiful boy!!! 🐾❤️

Jumbo has the most gorgeous blue eyes and just the sweetest looking face. He looks right at you, making eye contact, pleading for attention, silently begging you to stop and notice him…and maybe, just maybe, take him home.

He came in as a stray on 0909/24. He watches as people pass by his small cramped kennel space, wondering where his people are and why they have not come for him.

⭐️❤️ ABOUT JUMBO❤️⭐️
Kennel ID:
1 year old
Black, Gray & White Male
52lbs
Not known if he is intact or neutered

He is going to need help getting out. If you can foster or are interested in adopting him, please say so in the comments.

Rescues can not step up without a foster to give him a soft place to land. A rescue will also need help coveting his expenses.

He has no voice. He needs you to be his voice.
To let others know his story, his plight. His life depends on it.

Please help as you can.

Remember you are never too far away to help a shelter dog.

They took down my post for Jumbo at Lancaster. There was nothing remotely worrisome about cybersecurity on this post.

Yes I have requested a review.

Will they reinstate the post ? …not at all likely.

Another dog in desperate need has been denied some of the networking he need to get out alive.

Be aware that FB took down two of my posts last night for Kiki from San Jacinto.

My main post had 229 comments (more like 242 after I had tagged a few pledges and uploaded photos) and 82 shares. All of which went down.

I was not even updating the post. I was tagging made in the comments on my post. I had tagged some of them last week when she was pulled by Kiowa's House Husky Rescue, but I did not get through all of them, or even most of them.

And yes, I did ask for a review. I ask for a review every time they take down a post but I have never gotten a post reinstated. Usually I never get a response at all to the request for a review.

And then I posted about what had happened …and they took that down too.

❤️🐾LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME 🐾❤️

Beautiful Mila is a very sweet, happy-go-lucky 2 year old husky girl who loves to run, get the zoomies and play, play, play. She loves treats and knows some basic commands, such as sit. She is loving, affectionate and curious about everything. She loves pets and scratches. This petite little girl weighs in at 38 lbs. We call her our mini husky.

She seems to really enjoy being outside with the pack, playing bitey face with the pack and hopping in the puppy pool to cool down. This is one husky who likes the water! She gets along with all the dogs she has met

After a good romp and a couple of zoomies, she settles down nicely in the house, and is more than happy to couch cuddle with her foster. She is potty trained and lets you know when she wants to go out.

Mila is about 2 years old, 38 lbs, is spayed, UTD on vaccinations and is Heartworm negative.

She is ready for adoption and is now looking for her forever home. At just 2 years old she still has lots of puppy energy and would be the perfect choice with a family with an active lifestyle.

She will make a wonderful companion and awesome adventure buddy for her forever people.

If you are interested in adopting Mila or would like to set up a meet and greet, please reach out.

Once he is SAFE and has a name, we will need to raise money for a vet check, a medicated bath for fleas & ticks and for a groomer…he is filthy, coveted with ticks and fleas and his coat is deeply matted. These mats are painful. to a groomer his fur is matted and painful.

But one step at a time. Let’s get him safe with the foster.

Looking for a forever home or long term foster

❤️🐾 MEET LULU 🐾❤️

Sweet and friendly Lulu is looking for a forever home. Lulu’s sad story begins on Feb 05, 2024 when Lulu arrived at the Lancaster Shelter as a stray. Lulu was given a number and a name. She was adopted and then surrendered back to the shelter in June of 2024. Owner surrenders quickly get red listed so in July, to save her, Lulu was adopted by a kind and caring person, on behalf of an out-of-state adopter. The out-of-state adoption fell through . Since July 23, Lulu has been at a boarding kennel and been well cared for by a small group of caring individuals, who visit her regularly and take her on doggie day out outings in hopes of getting her seen and adopted.

Lulu is a beautiful girl. She is friendly and sweet. She does well with big dogs. So well that she hopped the gate to go visit a lonely Doberman mix puppy that was kenneled near her. They enjoy each other’s company, play together all day and cuddle with each other at night. No small dogs, cats or small animals. She has a typical husky personality.

Transport can be arranged and taken care of, for potential adopters from California to Washington state.

She was saved her from the shelter and now she needs a forever family to call her own.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting Lulu, please reach out to Jessica Buenbell or you can send me a DM as well.
