Our member Jacob Seeber is off to basic training on Wednesday. We are so proud of his commitment to serve our country. We are praying for safe travels and his time there. We can’t wait for him to make a safe return home! 🇺🇸

And the U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum

The Vet Museum was amazing, if you are in Huntsville, AL stop by and donate and look at all the amazing stuff they had. They have thousands of non reproduction War Artifacts from the Revolutionary War to Modern.

Tennessee, 1936...

On March 4, 1936 the gates were closed on the brand new Norris Dam, and the water began to rise behind it. It took until January of 1937 for the lake to approach the level that we are accustomed to today. This picture was taken in 1936 and shows two homes that are now completely covered by Norris Lake, and under several feet of water. This is the first picture I have ever seen that shows a progression of the water level rising.

I would reason that these homes must have been pretty close to the dam, and would ultimately be under very deep water; otherwise, they would have been torn down to prevent a future boating obstacle.

The caption for this one reads:

"Two houses showing the water rising as Norris Lake was being filled. Ca. 1936."

I found this in some TVA files known as the SPC which stands for Small Photograph Collections..

Norris Lake Cell Phone Recovery at Night - PART 2 In Part 2 of this video you will see me recover a phone at depth, unfortunately it is not the phone we needed. I did take the phone home and dry it out and attempt to charge it and it would not power on. I did go back down after finding this phone and found the phone we was looking for, for the family, the phone was still on at 52ft and the screen came on when I picked it up off the bottom, It was not videoed.
