If you love mushrooms, you’re going to love this soup! This pair is perfect with a grilled turkey melt for lunch 😍. This soup can be made with or without wine, just substitute the wine for more chicken broth if preferred!

It’s the season where I keep an over ripped banana stock in my freezer, just so I can make banana bread on the fly😂😍. I have a couple different recipes I use, but this one is definitely my most simplest! I hope you enjoy 🥰.

There is an elevated fire danger concern this afternoon over portions of Ohio.

The combination of warm temperatures, low minimum relative humidity values between 25 and 35 percent, southeast wind gusts of 15 to 20 MPH and recent dry weather and drought conditions across much of the area will lead to elevated fire danger this afternoon. Any fires that start may spread rapidly and become difficult to control, especially in areas of brush, dropped leaves, and unharvested fields.

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged today. Take extra care to prevent the start of accidental fires when smoking or operating vehicles around dropped leaves and dormant vegetation or crops. If you observe a fire in a field, grassy area, or wooded area, call 9 1 1.

🔶 Deer Management Permits Help Fill Your Freezer 💰
🦌 New this year, the deer management permit, used for antlerless deer only, is valid until the close of the bonus gun hunting weekend on Dec. 22.

⭐ Deer management permits, which offer cost savings over either-sex permits, can only be used on private land, in select public hunting areas, and during controlled hunts. Either-sex permits can be used to harvest antlered or antlerless deer and are valid statewide until Feb. 2, 2025.

🎃 Your DECOR can be DEADLY ☠️
Without fail, every year, we see a scene like this: a deer with a plastic Halloween pumpkin on its head. We'd appreciate it if you kept these pumpkins indoors, but if they are part of your outdoor spooky spread, please snip the black 'handles' from them.

📌 Please Report Sick Deer 🦌
📈 Our agency is seeking reports of dead/sick deer suffering from EHD to help us track potential disease outbreaks. If you observe a deer that is behaving abnormally, please report your observations online.

⏺️ Symptoms
🔵 Symptoms vary and usually develop about seven days after exposure.
🔵 Deer appear disoriented and show little or no fear of humans.
🔵 Animals may appear feverish.
🔵 Pronounced swelling of head, neck, tongue and eyelids
🔵 May have respiratory distress.

⏺️ Transmission
🔵 EHD does not pose a serious threat to livestock.
🔵 No risk has been shown to be associated with direct exposure to the virus or in consuming a deer that has been infected with the virus.
🔵 To be cautious, never kill or eat a sick deer. Depending on the actual illness, the deer may be unfit for consumption. Without testing, we cannot be certain what a sick deer is suffering from.
🔵 Use rubber gloves to field dress deer.

Yesterday, September 12, 2024, the County Commissioners Association of Ohio held a webinar regarding the Ohio drought.

The southern and south eastern regions of Ohio have been experiencing the most impact from the drought. Agricultural impacts include pasture conditions dropping to 53% last week, in some areas farmers have already been feeding their animals the winter hay supply since June, water sources have been drying up, etc. The Ohio Department of Agriculture has a response plan and have multiple resources available for those who are highly impacted. There are multiple USDA Emergency Drought Programs available to the counties affected by the drought, Carroll County included.

The link provided will take you directly to the 2024 Ohio Drought Resources website created by the Ohio Department of Agriculture for additional help and information.

Our first little pumpkin harvest of the season, and probably the last (or close to it) for this year. We had such a tough growing season, the lack of rain & HOT weather really put a huge damper on our pumpkins. We let the weeds run up to help protect from the harsh heat conditions, and it was successful with our tiny pumpkins we planted. BUT, honestly… we didn’t think any were going to grow. So when my son and I went back to the patch the other day, seeing pumpkins made our whole day! AND this is such a great reminder that God‘s timing is always right. Even if you think it’s not going the way it’s supposed to, something like this just proves there is always a plan..! So although we won’t have any homegrown pumpkins available locally for you guys this year, we are filled with joy to be able to decorate our own porch with what we have grown🙏❤️.
