To get Crypt of Horror and/or Dakota Doughboy, log on to (www.heritagesonspublishing.com). Click on the "Where to Buy" link and you are there. Of course, you may still use the paypal.me/heritagesons web address too. Either one works and if you order, we'll ship them the same day.

Several people over the weekend asked about purchasing Crypt of Horror online. It's not available on the website but I've set up an account through Pay Pal to facilitate online payment. If you are interested in a purchase, go to paypal.me/heritagesons. Include the amounts of $12.99 for soft cover plus $3.50 postage, or $16.95 for hard cover plus $3.50 for postage. You can also now order Dakota Doughboy online. It is $15.95 plus $3.50 postage. I'm humbled by the amount of support for this new fiction novel about a young journalist who finds a clue that solves a 30-year-old cold case. I also want to point out that I've had a number of comments regarding the cover photo, including a bookstore owner. Corey Erickson of Bismarck, N.D., took that photo in November. We just got our first book signing scheduled for this year. It will take place Saturday, April 2 from 1-3 p.m., at Main Street Books in Minot. Copies of Crypt of Horror and Dakota Doughboy will be available.

OK, good news! For those of you who have been wanting to purchase Crypt of Horror, you can now make payment through Pay Pal. For those of you who have already sent in checks, thanks, and I appreciate your patience. Here are the details: Log in to paypal.me/heritagesons. You'll then need to log into your Pay Pal account. Crypt of Horror Hard Cover is $16.95 plus $3.50 shipping and handling, Crypt of Horror Soft Cover is $12.99 plus shipping and handling and Dakota Doughboy is $15.95 plus shipping and handling. I'm still working on getting a Pay Pal link on the Heritage Sons Publishing website, but for now this is the best I can do. I will periodically post updates on pricing until I can find a spot to add it to a website link. And once again, hard cover editions are going fast, so make a purchase before they are all gone.

I just wanted to put it out there that hard-cover copies of Crypt of Horror are selling better than I would have imagined. And, as I mentioned before in this space, I only have a limited number of hard-cover copies available. So, if you want a hard-cover, you need to let me know. I'll have an autograph event in Minot in April and I'm pretty sure that will sell out the hard-cover copies. Plenty of paperbacks available, but there seems to be a keen interest in the hard-cover books.

I have a copy of the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin and I see the value of this book (Sixth Edition) is all over the map from as low as $17 to as high as $5,500. Is there anyone out there who might know what this book is worth. I've attached the cover page and it appears the book was published in England in 1872.

Here is our latest creation. Released Wednesday night in Williston, N.D., Crypt of Horror is a story about a cub reporter who uncovers a clue that eventually solves a 30-year-old cold case. We came up with the idea four years ago when my granddaughter suggested I write a book about a cub reporter who wants to work for the New York Times. A few things were added to that idea resulting in Crypt of Horror. The release coincided with my granddaughter's 18th birthday. Aurora was recipient of the first book out of the box. The cover photo is also significant. It was taken by Corey Erickson of Bismarck, N.D., and fits perfectly with the theme of this book. We're still working the marketing angle, but if you would like a copy, message me here or email to ([email protected]). Soft cover is available for $12.99 plus $3.50 for handling and hard cover is available for $16.95 plus $3.50 for handling. I have a limited amount of hard cover copies, so if you're interested, let me know soon. I'm hoping to join the Hazelton, N.D., Community Day celebration in June for a signing. Then came another unusual assignment. Harvey asked David to talk to the sheriff because the top law enforcement officer had investigated some cattle mutilations on the county line. David met with the sheriff who told him that he and the local veterinarian went out there to find four cattle were mutilated in a small area, about the size of a barnyard corral and many of their organs were missing or surgically cut to pieces.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” the sheriff said. “They were all cut up and there was no blood anywhere. It was as if some kind of vacuum sucked all the blood up. Also, there were no tracks, no wheel tracks, no footprints, nothing else left behind.”

There's a book printer in Akron, Ohio called 48-Hour Books. These people work at lightning speed. I OK'd a pdf on Wednesday at noon and a printed proof was on my doorstep Thursday at noon. It's just amazing.

The guy lunged at the pool player and the pool player started beating this guy with his fists, hitting him about the head and body as if Donny LaLonde was in that bar working this guy over. The agitator’s friends didn’t try to intervene and the pool player basically beat the guy to a pulp that included a couple of karate kicks to his ribs.

When he got there, the place was lit up like Chernobyl. He didn’t know where to start. As he walked toward the chaos, he noticed an old beat-up Dodge pickup coming toward him. As he got to the gate, two men dressed in flame retardant coveralls, jumped out of the white Dodge and walked toward him. They were both carrying weapons. He had no way of knowing if they were loaded. Both looked like high-powered rifles. The situation suddenly became intimidating.

Here's an entry from my next book coming soon. No other hints or clues today. "He was in the audience with the rest of the rabid teenagers from regional youth groups popping off his flash as the band played on stage. One of the guitar players got angry and started shaking his finger at the paparazzi-style photography. After the concert, this young, inquisitive reporter made his way backstage to the dressing room to get some quotes from this guitar player who seemed so out of place in a Christian band. When he introduced himself, the guitarist slammed the door in his face."
