Showing that skiing is dancing by weaving dreamy western dance scenes with ski lines in WY, ID, & AK. It is set to the music of @paulcauthen 🎶🎵 🤠 This film sidesteps the traditional narrative of a classic ski film to show skiing as art, using the elements of dance.

“As to when I shall visit civilization, it will not be soon, I think. I have not tired of the wilderness; rather enjoy its beauty and the vagrant life I lead, more keenly all the time. I prefer the saddle to the streetcar and star-sprinkled sky to a roof, the obscure and difficult trail, leading to the unknown, to any paved highway.” Said Everett Ruess in November 1934 in the last known letter he wrote, he was hiking the Escalante Rim in Southwest Utah.
70 years later his body was discovered 90 miles to the East and his death is believed to be highly suspicious.
What is is that intrigues us about stories of artist vagabonds living on the land? Do we secretly wish we could denounce modern conveniences for a life of freedom? Do we romanticize the idea of living only for art and adventure?
