I sent this letter to all members of Canton City Council and Mayor Sherer. I urge you to draft your own letter and submit it to them. We need to stand united.

Dear Members of the Canton Ohio City Council and Mayor Sherer,

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the ongoing violence in Gaza and to urge both the Canton Ohio City Council and Mayor Sherer to take immediate action to call for a long-term humanitarian ceasefire in the region.

The recent escalation of hostilities in Gaza has resulted in a devastating loss of life and widespread destruction. Innocent civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, are suffering unimaginable hardships as a result of this senseless violence. Homes, schools, hospitals, and critical infrastructure have been destroyed, exacerbating an already dire humanitarian situation.

As members of the global community, we cannot remain silent in the face of such tragedy. It is imperative that we come together to demand an end to the violence and to work towards a peaceful resolution to the conflict. A long-term humanitarian ceasefire is essential to prevent further loss of life and to allow for the delivery of vital humanitarian aid to those in need.

Therefore, I urge both the Canton Ohio City Council and Mayor Sherer to take the following actions:

1. Pass a resolution calling for a long-term humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.
2. Advocate for the protection of civilians and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
3. Engage in diplomatic efforts to address the underlying causes of the conflict and to work towards a just and lasting peace.

By taking these steps, the Canton Ohio City Council and Mayor [Mayor's Name] can demonstrate their commitment to peace, justice, and the protection of human rights. It is time for us to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza and to work towards a brighter and more peaceful future for all.

Police body camera footage of the fatal shooting of James Williams.

WARNING THIS FOOTAGE MAY BE DISTURBING TO VIEWERS The body worn camera footage was released by the Canton Police department today. As you can see, the officer was walking around, his headlights off when the volley of shots began. As the shots began, the officer came around the house and opened fire. After he opened fire, and we now know, fatality strikingly James Williams, he announces his presence. The officer states he was in fear of his life, but the footage shows that the shots were not being fired at him, and he moved himself into a position where he would have been in danger, had the shot been fired in his direction, in order to fire his service weapon, blindly through the fence. The BCI investigation continues. The family is holding a candlelight vigil at 6PM outside of their home on 10th Street SW in Canton. They are asking the community to come out and show support tonight at the corner of 10th and Smith SW.
