ASSU President Explains why Lectures might not be happy to go back to class to teach the students

Eight months from being away from the four walls of the classroom and eight months of not being paid by the government. The Academic Staff Union of Universities has rescheduled it timetable and is hopefully going to start lectures today in schools. Nevertheless, there is no guarantee that the lecturers will be motivated to teach in the lecture room because they are being forced to resume due to the Industrial court order.
The President of the ASUU, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke has explained why lecturers might not be motivated to resume back to school in a Channels Tv interview. He revealed that the students can't expect a lecturer that's owned an eight months salary to teach with a smile on his face. He lamented that a lot of lecturers are repaying loans and that many are battling with their families needs.

He revealed that they got a piece of news from Calabar about the death of some of their colleagues who have died due to starvation. The Professor argued that it's understandable if any lecturer fails to give proper teaching but then he hoped that they will do their very best in teaching the students.

Lawyers Group Gives Atiku 24 Hours To Withdraw His Statement That Only North Can Win The Presidency..

The League of Patriotic Lawyers has given the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku an ultimatum of 24 hours to withdraw his provoking statement that only the North can be able to rule Nigeria and not the Igbo and the Yoruba.

In a statement made by the Chairman of the group, Abubakar Yesufu while speaking with newsmen alleged that the words of Atiku are not only provocative but can also stir up Nigerians to revolt against him in the 2023 Presidential election. The group implored him to withheld the statement to unify the people.

The group statement reads, ''We are calling on the Former Vice President to refute or withdraw thee highly controversial statement that only the North and not the Yoruba or Igbo can win the Presidency. The refusal should be done within 24 hours or he faces the rage of Nigerians across the country who are armed with a democratic weapon, the PVCs.'

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has told the people of Ekiti to reject the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and this of the Labour Party (LP) ), Peter Obi.

Tinubu stated this while speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of Abiodun Oyebanji as the governor of Ekiti State.

While addressing the crowd, Tinubu told the people to turn a blind eye to both Atiku and Obi as people they did not know.

One man was killed and 18 people were injured following a fight between members of two youth organizations, according to the Zamfara Police Command.

According to the police, the groups were suspected to be members of APC and PDP in the state.

SP Muhammad Shehu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) gave the confirmation in an SMS message to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau on Sunday.

A CRY FOR JUSTICE

A despicable events of what happened Yesterday of how a young 25 years old Faith Aigbe was lured by one Friday Ogieriakhi Iguodeyala AKAAS (Drugs) who claims to be the Ohen(Enogie) of Uhoho community along bypass to his house she was brutally assaulted and left to die inside a locked Lexus jeep. The sad event happened yesterday, the young girl was a teacher in one of the schools in the community, the said Ohen has been pestering her for a relationship despite married to 4 wives, yesterday the Ohen lured her to a location yesterday where she informed the Ohen that she is planning her introduction to get married, enraged by the information, the said Ohen went into a rage and beat the young girl mercilessly úntil she became unresponsive, then he dragged her into his tinted Lexus 350 and drove her to central hospital, on arrival at central hospital he parked his car with the young girl inside and fled the scene without trying to get the hospital emergency teams to administer
treatment or first aid to her. Seeing that the young girl did not return home after some hours the family started a frantic search for her and one of the boys to the Ohen informed the family of her whereabouts, they rushed to the hospital parking lot and searched for the car on finding the car and the young girl sucked in the back seat the mother tried to force the car door open in the hope that the girl might still be alive but the hospital secirty stopped her and requested they go get the police, the distrust mother then rushed to Aideyan police station and after 2 hours the police reluctantly accompanied them there, instead of the police to quickly force the car open they insisted in towing the car to their police station saying that they do not have the power to force open the car. Again the distrust mother watching life sneaking out of her daughter went to look for a towing van and after about 5 hours the car was eventually towed to the police station where the police then broke the glass of the car and discovered that the young girl had given up the ghost.
