Team Integrity once again proved their ability as they plucked another trophy in the Spelling Bee Competition during the 3rd day of University Students' Week 2024 at MinSU Main Campus, May 2.

Today's event started with the semi-finals of the competition. Five competitors from different teams faced each other and spelled different words given by the facilitators. After the semis, three contestants remained and proceeded to the final round.

Having a more complex set of words, the finalists struggled as they uttered the words given. But eventually at the clincher round, Mr. Vince Anthony Batayola from the College of Computer Studies of team Integrity reigned supreme after posting the most number of correct spelled words.

This activity proved the ability and intellect of students of MinSU Main Campus in celebration of the Academic Thursday.

Studentsโ€™ Week's second day celebration wrapped up with cultural performances by Sining Balai this afternoon at the University Auditorium.

With these performances, MinSUans experienced a taste of a new culture aligned with the theme of this week's celebration.

Uhay productions initially performed a relevant presentation about the ways to beat the heat. It served as a reminder for students to keep themselves safe as the heat index continues to increase.

First-year students, under the guidance of Ms. Loida Malabanan, also took the center stage, presenting traditional folk dances from various regions, including Tinikling and Sayaw Sa Bangko.

Moreover, the MinSU Harmonics serenaded the audience through performing the "Arabian Nights," "New Dawn," an acapella rendition of "Selos," and a beautiful duet of "Love is An Open Door." Alab Dance Troupe then brought the energy up a notch with their dance performance.

Another highlight of the event was XCape Live Band, led by their vocalist, Ar Barber. The band delivered a set list, featuring hits like "3019," "Sumayaw Sumunod," "Awitin mo at Isasayaw ko," "Like A River," "Upuan," and a rendition of Lola Amour's "Raining in Manila."

The event concluded on a high note, leaving the audience wanting more.

Meanwhile, the celebration of University Student's Week will take a short break on Thursday to observe Labor Day, but will resume with more exciting activities soon after.
