GORDON COUNTY AREA ALERTS.....HIGH FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING FOR ALL OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA DUE TO STRONG WINDS... Expect sustained winds of 12 to 18 mph and gusts of 25 to 35 mph. Relative humidity is expected to stay above 25 percent. With dry conditions, high fire danger is likely. Check with local authorities about outdoor burning. If you choose to burn, please exercise extreme caution.
WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TODAY TO 7 AM EST WEDNESDAY... South winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected. Higher gusts may occur in the highest areas of North Georgia, including parts of north central, northeast, northwest, and west central Georgia. From 1 PM today to 7 AM EST Wednesday. IMPACTS... Gusty winds may move unsecured items, break tree limbs, and cause some power outages.
