The comp featured songs from recent records from Bearhunter, (At Sea), and Johnny Nobody along with new tracks from upcoming releases from Nick Gordon, Roger Bryan & the Orphans, On Beta, and Wooden Waves(WW would see their records release on the One Percent Press label).

There’s more fuzz and more hurt than I could ever fit in to songs from home.
I was trapped.
We captured a moment of myself grappling with being a dad at home with his very young family.
Mark Nosowicz let me get away with so many guitar layers it was pretty much ridiculous.
I remember being quite ill and canceling recording a couple of times. Leaving the fam to record for hours was also not the best choice.
I threw my back out right before doing the drums with Mike at the Adam Mickiewicz library.
Mike and Poos really stepped up to bat and crushed their takes. We also had fun in Mark’s studio doing a really silly group vocal at the end of Been a Year.
This album was personal and recording it was painful but cathartic.
Mark captured all of it. Ryan Besch created the perfect artwork for the album.
Writing music really be can be a therapeutic Time Capsule.

The other day we crossed the 1st year mark of the Harvest page and 19 years as a label/not a label. The big 20 next year! It’s been a cool stroll through the past and re-remembering things we completely forgot about and unearthing all this stuff to put it all together. Thanks to all the band members who have contributed recollections, pics and audio commentary. Special thanks to Jessica Petrella for the wealth of video and pics taken when no one was looking which has made up the bulk of the documentation here.
We’re just getting our first snow here today so it looks like it’s time to get into the holiday spirit and dig up some good stuff from that old christmas stocking.
As always, thank you for throwing some attention our way. More new good stuff coming next year!
Ho Ho Ho,

Fourem
“Hunting and Gathering”
HS-017
2010
For over 20 years I’ve had an outlet outside of any band I’ve been in to write and produce music as myself; Fourem being the live band version of that. Hunting & Gathering was written out of my love for music tech and artists who use it to enhance what a band can sound like. Everything written for this EP was intended to be played live with the help of a sequencer (Ableton Live) to keep everything together. We played out a bunch with Mark Nosowicz handling drums, Chris Gangarossa (Lazlo Hollyfeld) on bass & synth and me on guitar/synth/ableton. We had the good fortune to open for some pretty big acts; Bonobo, Tortoise, Martin Dosh, and a few others. The music itself was an early attempt to emulate a sound I had in my head, marrying lo-fi hip-hop with instrumental post-rock. Artists who I was really into at the time were across the board on Ninja Tune records, Morr Music, Thrill Jockey, etc.. What we were able to do was put out something melodic with a good beat and interesting production and I’m proud of it.

On the way to forming (AT SEA), my pal Sean Murty and I attempted to record a few songs under the name Worrywort with Mark Nozowicz at Harvest Studios. 2/3 were half baked pseudo electro tunes, but this song, aptly titled “At Sea” stuck, and inspired me to spend more time with the guitar, less with the Korgs and drum machines. A couple months later @hunted_bya_freak and I formed (AT SEA).
