The endless humdrum of social media can be draining. I notice personally that it makes me feel s**t sometimes and that’s when I need to take a step back. Some of us feel fomo when we’re not online but it’s our brain tricking us.

To my fellow artists, as important as it is to stay relevant online we must not burn ourselves out trying to make as much content as possible.

I have a rule that I do not use my phone while painting at all and it’s a moment where I can become one with my creation.

Some of the art I’ve made this year 😃

I am so grateful that I have been riding this creative rollercoaster 🎢

The spirit of creativity has guided me into places unfamiliar and helped me get out of my comfort zone.

Looking forward to this new year and I don’t know where my art will take me. My happiness in creating doesn’t come from external sources. I will be perfectly content painting sunsets in my studio for the remainder of my time. Although I look forward to new challenges and opportunities.

The Great Hand Emerges From The Sea

Hands are incredibly difficult to paint but something about practice makes perfect!

I had a blast creating this one. The vision came to me as I was driving and the color scheme is mainly inspired by my desktop background lol

Painting is a valuable teacher and I learn sometime every time my brush touches canvas.

Happy to announce that my lovely wife and I are home owners! So much gratitude for it all and I’m so excited for this new chapter in our lives. We are setting roots down here in Brooksville and loving it more and more each day 💙

“Divine Vaca” 🐄

This piece is dedicated to the complexity and beauty of these creatures. I understand why certain cultures worship these animals. They are serene, emotional, and intelligent.

I used to go visit these cows at the wellfields and this piece is inspired by one of them. I observed they had great memory because after visiting them a couple of times they would start noticing me and coming up to me when I arrived.

Their natural lifespan is up to 20 years which is 4 times as long as their life expectancy when used for food.

There are many sanctuaries that have cows and other rescued animals if you want to visit but if you are in Florida I would highly recommend in Ocala.

“Distopia”

The year is 2223. The Happiest Place on Earth has been reclaimed by fish, sea turtles, dolphins, and all of the sea life we damaged and diminished. We may think our planet is just a big hunk of rock but it’s this magnificent, intelligent, living system that’s capable of self-regulation and supporting life to all of us. We must protect our Mother.

We don’t have to look ahead to see the real effects climate change is having on our planet today. Record temperatures, drought, fires, floods, smog, habitat loss, and a warming, rising ocean. It’s already affecting many coastal areas.

From the Maldives, to Venice, to Miami Beach, they are preparing and building infrastructure to deal with the rising oceans. But as unrelenting as water can be we can never control it fully. Water will win in the end. Nature will reclaim itself back from the people who tried to control it and exploit it for profit. Nature wins 🌎

Huge shoutout to for his amazing work in the book “The Water Will Come.” It was extremely eye-opening and insightful. And to the researchers who contribute their knowledge and dedicate their lives to this ever-changing subject.

“Oneself”

This portrait explores the concept of self identity.

Our internal awareness of who we are and how we fit into society is how I would define self identity.

We are the amalgamation of our lived experience and each possess a beautiful and extraordinary frame of reference.

Our perspective is what makes us unique.
Our individuality is what makes us human.

My experience on this planet is rich, multifaceted, and polychromatic. I do not abide by structures that oppress or that require oneself to conform.

We may all be small cogs in the culture machine but why not be a brightly colored, whimsical, silly cog.

WIFE APPRECIATION POST 💗💗💗

Goddamn y’all, married life has been filled with so much love and sacredness. She is so gorgeous I mean c’mon!!!! I am still in disbelief that I found someone who is so perfect for me. Love is wild and mysterious and I am so honored to be experiencing this.

As we depart on our honeymoon in 2 days, we will be visiting some amazing locations in Central Europe, relaxing on the Adriatic coast, seeing some astounding Medieval and Renaissance art, and unwinding in the Tuscan countryside 💚

Still buzzing over the absolutely magical weekend I had getting married to my best friend. I still can’t believe I am now your husband lol but I hold that title with the utmost honor and privilege ❤️

We are celebrating 10 years together in April, and I still wake up everyday in awe that we are together, thriving, and growing like a magnificent tree.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart ventricles to all my wonderful groomsmen, the beautiful bridesmaids, and every single of our fabulous friends and family who were there to witness this sacred moment for Paige and I.

Happy Black History month! I felt called to share this celebration of sacred African culture in light of The College Boards decision to exclude certain subjects from AP African American Studies here in the US.

Many states are now passing laws excluding important subjects and people in Black history. You cannot suppress Black history because it fits your narrative. What is going on is truly disgusting and is a slippery slope into fascism.

This piece represents the sacredness of African masks and how they are used as spiritual tools for many.

This one was so special to make since Benny has been in my life for many years now and he is one of the most loving animals I have ever met. He gives the best kisses and the hugs paws down.
