If you’re taking down your holiday decor in the coming weeks, don’t put your real tree out for trash pick up. Summit Metro Parks is collecting live Christmas trees for its recycling program through Jan. 31.

Summit Metro Parks is accepting live Christmas trees for its recycling program through Jan. 31. The park district chips the trees and turns them into mulch, which is used at trailheads and in landscaping projects parkwide.
