I'm currently based in Brookings, South Dakota. I'm fortunate enough to be a Mass Communication Specialist in the United Stated Air Force (Air Guard) where I've received a lot of my photo and video training. Through my experiences with the Air Force, I found a true passion in capturing raw, authentic moments and telling people's stories. Participating in a photoshoot with me is unique because I lo

In my early days of photography, I stuck to the rule of backlighting subjects, always avoiding the intensity of direct sunlight. But lately, I’ve been drawn to the strong, bold look that comes with shooting in full sun. It’s raw, gritty, and just feels right. 🔥

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

You'd think since I'm a photographer, I'd naturally feel comfortable in front of the camera, right? Wrong! 🙈

I just had my own photos taken, so trust me when I say I really get it – being in front of the camera can be hard and feel awkward! 😅 Like really awkward. 😅 "What do I do with my face? Where do I put my hands? Does my hair look ok?" Were running through my head the entire time.

So trust me when I tell you you don't have to be a "natural" in front of the camera to get amazing images and girl, do not let your fears of that little voice in your head keep you from booking the session. You ARE beautiful, and your images will be too. You just have to trust your photographer. Trust that their expertise will come through in their poses and seemingly silly prompts.

As someone who's usually behind the lens, I understand the nerves and uncertainty. 💯 But my job is to make you feel comfortable and capture those genuine, candid moments that you'll love. If I can do it, you can too. Let's embrace the awkward together and create something beautiful!

TW: ⚠️ End of life ❤️‍🩹

Hi Mom,
Now that I’ve been across The Rainbow Bridge they said I should write a letter home.

Remember that night when I wasn’t feeling very well and we were all crying?

I don’t remember much, but I do remember seeing and hearing all of you and feeling your touches and hugs…I remember hearing “we love you” and that one last command of “Go through”.

I didn’t know what you meant, so I turned around and walked through the fog that was in front of me.

I saw the biggest bridge I’ve ever seen! And so many friends on the other side of it!

They were all playing with toys and balls!

You were right to tell me to go there!

My feet kept moving forward, but my heart kept pulling me back.

Your touches became lighter and lighter and I wanted to come back and nudge your hands for more love, but I was overcome by this feeling of curiosity for the happy place over the bridge!

My feet started moving on their own, like a gentle breeze was moving them forward for me!

I can’t explain it, but I had no doubt that it was the right thing to do!

So, I walked across that big, huge bridge by myself!

I looked for you, because you’re always by my side, walking with me, but this was different.

I didn’t have a collar around my neck or a leash connecting me to you ~ I was ‘free’!

Even though you weren’t there with me, I never felt alone!

I actually felt like I had a huge cape of love wrapped around my body and the more I walked, the easier it was to breathe!

So, I kept walking!

And I would feel more warmth in the big hug, so I kept on walking!

I eventually made it over the big bridge – I did it by myself, mom. When I got here, all of my new friends greeted me and helped me walk off the bridge ~ it was so cool!

They gave me a pair of wings and said that I was now a Guardian Angel!

What I’ve learned has been amazing and nothing like I’ve seen before!

We’re all the same up here ~ we all have wings and we all have Forever People to watch over ~ that’s YOU, mom !

You’re my Forever Person and I’m your Forever Dog!

We had such a great life together and I do miss you a LOT, but please know that I am so happy in my new home across The Bridge!

I’ll send you another Earth Angel so you won’t be alone.

Give them your whole heart, like you gave it to me.

I’ll check in every so often to make sure they treasure your love ~ I always did!

When you miss me, think of a rainbow and know I’m on the other side of it, waiting to walk with you again.

I’ll always be in your heart.

I was lucky enough to be able to photograph Berkley when all she could do is sit assisted in a tin bucket for family photos last year. Today, I got to watch her run toward my camera while mom and dad smiled in the background. 🥹 To say I am beyond thankful I have been able to watch this little family grow through my lens is an understatement.
Thank you Bowar family 💕 You have no idea what it means to my little creative heart to be able to be a part of your guys' lives in this capacity.

I love capturing families.
Being present and invited into these fleeting, yet significant moments in life is not something I take lightly.
The tiny hands wrapped around moms finger.
The ear to ear smiles as dad tickles.
Reading books with great grandparents.
These moments sculpt our being, embedding themselves in our subconscious, shaping our identity and influencing our actions in the world.

Documenting this family and getting to see how loving, intentional, and present they are in the lives of these two boys was soul-refreshing.

You guys... 😍 when I tell you that I freaking love capturing outdoor summer family sessions - I mean.. I. Am. Obsessed.
And families like this are exactly why.
The whole session was just like a couple of old friends casually hanging out on a summer evening.. while one of them casually snapped a few bomb family photos along the way😅.
