I spent 3 hours at Eli’s Pizza in La Paz with yet another person with an amazing life story: Benjamin Peredes better known as ‘Benjo’. In this episode Benjo is orphaned, becomes an anti-American communist, and about his first encounter with the Corsons.
You’re going to love this story.
S4 E1 Ken & Sarah Corson: Missionaries Who Got It Right
This week’s episode tells about the early lives of Ken and Sarah Corson and of their four children. It tells of their search and discovery of an incredibly unique, creative and culturally appropriate way of pastoring and sharing the Gospel in Bolivia: NOT as U.S. missionaries to Bolivia, but as IEMB pastors serving directly under the IEMB bishop.
And these two episodes will help you understand S5 E4 (which drops on 9/30/23) when Sarah has the courage to stare down a Neo-Nazi who had put a gun in her gut and announced: “I am here to kill all Americans and all Methodists”! And Sarah’s reply? “Well, you will be killing me because I atam both!”
Where did that courage come from? Watch this episode and next week’s to find out.

S3 E5 Drops now! Episode 5: The Aymara ERUPTION within the Evangelical Methodist Church in Bolivia. Tells of the OCCUPATION of the IEMB office where indigenous Methodists stormed the IEMB offices, forced everyone out of the building, leaving behind all computers and records, and took over the IEMB after years of frustrating feet dragging by US missionaries and the Criollo and Mestizo Methodist leadership in opening up access to leadership positions within the IEMB.

Good Morning!
This week's episode of "Weaving the Blanket" continues the story of Murray Dickson. It includes several clips from a Zoom call I had with Maggie Dickson, Murray's daughter.
After spending several years educating the children of the elite, Murray begins to turn toward the indigenous and finds open hearts for the Gospel. So Murray begins to focus more and more on the indigenous bringing them into the Faith.
He begins to identify himself more and more with the indigenous, wearing their clothing: the poncho and llucho. He also begins to focus more on educating the indigenous of Bolivia. But this is a dangerous thing to do in a Hispanic/Criollo dominated society.
And we will hear some circumstantial evidence that Murray may have played a key role in advising and encouraging the U.S. government to have a 'hands-off' position during the 1952 Revolution, when you would think the U.S. government would falsely assume that such a populist movement was a communist movement.
Listen to this man's early life and you will see how God is preparing him to become a martyr, an authentic modern Christian martyr in his struggle to educate the indigenous of Bolivia.
Here is the link to the 27:55 episode which premiers at 1:00pm CT today.

I planned on sending this out tomorrow, but we are in a sleet and ice storm here in Oklahoma, a great day to watch videos. So here is something for you to watch:
I discovered that doing the research, interviews, writing, recording, editing and gathering photographs for 20 - 30 minute podcast each week was just too difficult. I couldn't keep up with the calendar. But I now have 25 episodes ready for the next 25 Thursdays.
Here is a 10 minute audio or video of the "Re-Start and Overview of Season 2 of Weaving the Blanket." It begins with a very very powerful and scary story. Click on Candle for YouTube.
