Storm Beryl:
TROPICAL STORM WARNING IN EFFECT...A Tropical Storm Warning means tropical storm-force winds are expected somewhere within this area within the next 24 hours.
* LOCATIONS AFFECTED - Brenham - Burton
* WIND - LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Equivalent Tropical Storm force wind - Peak Wind Forecast: 40-50 mph with potential gusts to 70 mph.
Conditions are expected to begin deteriorating overnight and into dawn on Monday and continue into the morning and afternoon.
PLAN: Plan for dangerous wind of equivalent strong tropical storm force. -
PREPARE: Prepare for potential significant wind damage.
POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Significant with some damage to roofing and siding materials, along with damage to porches, awnings, carports, fences and sheds. Mobile homes could be damaged, especially if unanchored. Trees could be damaged as well.
Scattered power and communications outages possible, but more prevalent in areas with above ground lines.
* FLOODING RAIN - LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Flood Watch is in effect - Peak Rainfall Amounts: Additional 3-6 inches, with locally higher amounts.
Potential for major flooding rain.
PLAN: Emergency plans should include the potential for major flooding from heavy rain.
PREPARE: Strongly consider protective actions, especially if you are in an area vulnerable to flooding.
ACT: Heed any flood watches and warnings.
POTENTIAL: Rivers and tributaries may rapidly overflow their banks in multiple places. Small streams, creeks, canals, and ditches may become dangerous rivers. Flood control systems and barriers may become stressed.
Driving conditions could become dangerous.
There also may be a threat for isolated tornadoes.
