π§οΈ RADAR UPDATE (THU 4PM): Quite the blob of showers & thunderstorms amassing over the higher terrain southwest of Denver. Expecting these to weaken considerably as they move off the higher terrain, but do plan for some wet weather in the Metro area between now and 7PM! #COWx #monsoon
A monsoon storm slamming (half of) Boulder this afternoon with heavy rain! Gauges indicate that up to 0.75" of rain fell in about 15 minutes across a narrow swath of south #Boulder! #COwx #Monsoon
β οΈ A strong thunderstorm is coming over the Flatirons now into #Boulder. Contains heavy rain, lightning and small hail! #cowx
It was a peaceful Monday morning in western Boulder County before the thunderheads blew up!
βοΈ A batch of showers is moving towards the Boulder/Denver area early this morning from the northwest. Likely much of this activity will weaken as it moves off the terrain, but don't be surprised to see a couple sprinkles & continued clouds through Sunday mid-morning #COWX
A very rare double #Fujiwhara interaction in the eastern Pacific as four tropical cyclones exist(ed) within 1000 miles of each other. Fabio & Emilia perform quite the dance before possibly merging in a few days! #NotCOwx
HEADS UP: We've got one last day of clear air in the Front Range before the next round of thick smoke arrives tonight, mainly sourced from mega-fires in California, but there'll be some smoke from the #AlexanderMountainFire as well π₯π¨

π₯ The #AlexanderMountainFire is already ripping early Tuesday morning west of Loveland. With today's record heat, record dry air, sunny skies, and gusty winds, this fire is unfortunately going to get worse before it gets better.... #COWX #COfire
Things are looking good for the next several days as the main source of smoke to the USA shifts from being Canada to the large fires in the PNW & California. General southwest flow over the Rockies will keep the worst of the smoke north of Colorado through at least Sunday! #COWx
Finally relief is in sight for Colorado! π₯³
Wildfire smoke will remain fairly thick on Thursday but it will largely clear out on Friday! Some minor haze will remain into the weekend but that's the new normal in the West

π₯π¨ Here's the ground-level smoke forecast thru Friday morning. Canadian smoke will gradually be lessening today and tomorrow, with more notable improvement on Friday into the weekend. Current view of a cloud-free, but not smoke-free Colorado Tuesday morning!
Nice little outflow boundary heading towards Denver and Boulder. It's been quiet most of the day, but looking increasingly likely there will be fireworks this evening! Keep an eye out ππ #cowx
π₯π¨ Holy Smokes! Massive wildfires burning across CA, OR, WA, ID, & MT will be supplying moderate to high levels of smoke in the Denver area for the foreseeable future (3-5+ days). Luckily most of the big fires are 700+ miles away instead of on our doorstep!
Both days this weekend will be miserable in the Front Range. Not only will temperatures be in the lower 100s both days, wildfire smoke from Oregon, California, and Montana will fill our skies π

π²π₯π¨ Colorado currently sits between a plethora of wildfire smoke trapped under the heat dome along the West Coast & smoke coming south from huge fires in Canada. Our current, relatively smoke-free air won't last forever. More smoke enters the picture later this week! #COWx
A cold front, assisted by the outflow from severe storms in far eastern Colorado, will arrive into then Denver Metro area around 9-11PM Saturday evening. As a result, highs on Sunday will be 15-20deg cooler in the middle 70s with scattered late-day storms! Who's ready? π₯³π₯Ά #COWx
