Photos from Ice Weasels Cometh are all uploaded now, if you raced on Saturday please go check them out. Actually, even if you didn't race you should check them out, there's some really cool shots in there.

Good luck to everyone headed to Nationals this weekend! For me, this was the end of my 2024 cycling season. 2025 is shaping up to be a great year, but while we wait for it to kick off please think of me if you have any photography needs.

Had a little bit of introspection that morning on the race course, like “why did I wake up early to come stand in the pouring rain with temps in the 30s lugging around thousands of dollars worth of gear (don’t rob me!)”? The easy answer is “for the money” but it doesn’t take a business major to realize that the investment required + the time spent will probably never equal out with photo sales. So I guess the answer is some combination of “I like bikes and bike races” and “I like taking photos of people racing their bikes”. Sometimes when I go to check on a rider’s results for a race outside of New England, I see races that had hundreds of entries and zero photographers - what a bummer that must be!

If you can wake up early and pedal your ass off in a cold downpour, I can get out there and try and get a really great photo of you.

Took some time at Tree House CX to experiment with a couple different filters - the first one softens the image and creates some starburst flares, and the second one creates rainbow flares when pointed at light sources.
I was attempting to create some different looks and I’m not hating what I produced but it definitely wasn’t exactly what I was going for. The first filter softened the image more than I liked (and there’s a certain irony in owning top of the line gear just to then slap on a filter designed to make it a teeny bit blurry). With the second filter combined with a wide-angle lens, you can actually see the rainbow lines that make up the filter cutting across the image, which isn’t ideal, and there’s also some vignetting.
Anyhoo, wanted to share them because they aren’t perfect but do look kinda nifty, and I’ll keep working to achieve unique looks.

If you’re racing Really Rad this Saturday in Falmouth, we have around ten spots left for photo packages. You can book your slot with the link below.
By booking ahead you:
•Ensure we get the best photos of you, instead of the racers around you
• Get your full digital gallery from the race within 24 hours (but probably same day, especially if you sign up now)
• Get a couple key photos immediately after your race so you can show them off on your socials
• Recieve a code to buy your photos as print products at a discount
• Get a say in how your images are edited, cropped, etc - I can work together with you to curate a ‘look’ for your photos that you’ll love, vs. just digging through a race gallery and buying what’s there
• As an add-on, I can arrange all of your photos into a seamless carousel post for Instagram

Downhill finals at Mont St. Anne.
1) I stayed down near the finish corral because I knew that was gonna get on that podium (she was down by about 2 seconds at split 2, crashed, and then was only down by 10 seconds at split 3 so she was definitely on pace). I ended up with a bunch of finish line reaction photos, and I'm not complaining.
2) .kolb66 looking chuffed and a little muddy.
3) crossed the finish line and collapsed - I don't think she realized she had won until came and told her.
4) We went into the weekend with Cynthia leading in the local squid fantasy DH league, so I blew my budget for the weekend on in the hopes that he'd take the win and propel me into 1st. Cynthia had Lachie, Laurie, and Gracey sooooo...no.
