WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 🌎
This is a little different than my typical content, but it something I am passionate about!
So in honor of today, here are five of my favorite tips that help me when I am struggling. 👇🏼
I pray that they help you when you need them as well!
👉🏼 Find a therapist that is right for you.
If your first experience wasn’t great, try again!
👉🏼 Create a dopamine playlist.
Make a playlist of all the songs that bring a smile to your face! Whether it is belting in your car, dancing in your kitchen, or a good shower cry. Music can help!
👉🏼 Take time to slow down.
It is ok that everyone else around you may be moving faster than you in this season.
👉🏼 When people reach out, it is ok to be honest and it is ok to need help.
It can be tempting but try not to push your support system away.
👉🏼 There isn’t something wrong with you.
Enough said. Mental Health can look different for everyone and show up in your life in different ways. It does not have to define you - and you don’t have to apologize for any of it.
🫶🏻 No matter your story, know there are people ready to be a listening ear & support you when you are ready.

• I met my parents in Cedar Falls to start wedding planning!
• Keith & I at the Iowa Tap Room for the first time (and ran into a college friend! 💜)
• Celebrated my besties bday downtown Des Moines
• IOWA vs ISU - enough said 🏈
• Relaxed at home & snuggled up w/ Ralphie 🐾
Even without a Hawkeye win, it was a great weekend to be an Iowan! 🖤💛❤️

When was the last time you started your week off by taking a moment to collect your thoughts?! 🫠
It is so easy to jump right into the chaos that is Monday!
Oftentimes, we don’t think to take a second to breathe until we are already feeling overwhelmed & overstimulated.
It’s “normal” to grind from the moment you wake up to when you close your eyes at night, but I’ve noticed that if I don’t take a moment to brain dump, breathe, or take a sip from my neglected water bottle, that I run out of steam & hit overwhelm much quicker than I’d like or my schedule allows.
Ultimately, the 5+ minutes I take to myself isn’t taking away from my time; instead, it helps the rest of my day be more productive and balanced!
How do you “take a breather”?! Do you notice a difference when you don’t allow time for it?!
