Riley's came on a 96-yard kickoff return, marking the first Bronco kickoff return for a score since Avery Williams on Nov. 21, 2020. Dubar scored his first touchdown on the season on a 2-yard score in the fourth quarter.

Boise State Continues Standard of Academic Excellence

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State student-athletes continued to set the standard for academic excellence during the 2023-24 school year – they combined for the highest department cumulative grade-point average (GPA) in department history with a 3.42 at the conclusion of the spring semester.

In addition, the all-department spring semester GPA of 3.37 is the second-highest for a single-semester – trailing only the 3.42 set during Fall 2023. Over half of Boise State’s sports programs earned a new GPA record, whether cumulative or semester, during the school year, while women’s golf (3.82), softball (3.57) and football (3.18) set all-time records for semester GPA in the spring.

All 18 sport programs earned above a 3.0 GPA, whether semester or cumulative, during the spring semester.

“Congratulations to our student-athletes for continuing to thrive in the classroom,” said athletic director Jeramiah Dickey. “Their academic success matters, and motivates us even more to continue our investment in the resources needed to ensure every Bronco student-athlete has the skill set to win in every area of their lives.”

On an individual level, the vast majority of student-athletes maintained Boise State’s standard of academic excellence:

* 163 student-athletes made the Dean’s List
* 59 student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA (second-most to Fall 2023)
* 85% of student-athletes earned above a 3.0 GPA
* 44% of student-athletes earned a 3.7-or-above GPA – the equivalent of straight-A’s
* 62% of student-athletes earned above a 3.5 GPA
Forty-four student-athletes from 14 different sport programs completed their goal of earning a degree as part of Boise State University’s 2024 Spring Commencement, highlighted by women’s soccer student-athlete Jocelyn Stephens being named a Top Ten Scholar – one of the highest undergraduate academic honors.

Boise State Adds Nation’s Top Junior College Recruit to Program

Wide receiver from Kilgore is nation’s top JuCo prospect

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State head coach Spencer Danielson boosted his 2024 recruiting class yet again Tuesday as the Broncos announced the addition of wide receiver Chris Marshall to the roster.

Marshall was listed by 247Sports as the nation’s top junior college prospect for the 2024 recruiting class following an impressive season at Kilgore Junior College.

“We are excited to have Chris join our program and add some depth to our receiver corps,” Danielson said. “He has tremendous speed, impressive hands and the ability to play at the next level. But more than that, he is a hard-working young man that wants to contribute to this team and win. I look forward to seeing that energy and effort out of him this spring.”

The potential for on-the-field success is palpable. A former five-star, top 25 prospect out of high school, he showed his explosiveness right away at Kilgore as Marshall went for 139 yards and two touchdowns in his first game with the Rangers before sustaining an ankle injury that sidelined him for five weeks. He would return later in the season to produce several big outings – a two-touchdown performance against Tyler and a 162-yard game against Blinn – before finishing the season with 21 receptions for 449 yards and five touchdowns.

Marshall spent the 2022 season at Texas A&M before spending the Spring 2023 term at Ole Miss. He then transitioned to Kilgore where he obtained his Associate’s Degree in December.

Fans can now reserve their seats for the 2024 season today by placing a deposit of just $24 down for new season tickets or renewals. The 2024 home schedule features Nevada, Oregon State, Portland State, San Diego State, Utah State and Washington State visiting The Blue as the Broncos look to become the first Mountain West program to repeat as champion since San Diego State in 2015-16.
