Local groups focused on hunger say the SUN Bucks program helped feed hundreds of thousands of children while school was out, and warn students could struggle to eat during the summer if the state doesn’t opt back in before the deadline on January 1.

The deadline for states to decide whether to participate in SUNBucks — a federal program that helps provide funds during the summer — is approaching, after Indiana opted out of the program last year.

Health experts advise people to get their annual flu vaccinations, wash their hands, cover their mouths when sneezing or coughing, and to stay home at least 24 hours after a fever breaks.

The Chicago Bears say they're willing to explore a move to Northwest Indiana. The football team has been planning a new stadium in Arlington Heights, Illinois, but the team's president said the team hasn't been getting the help it wants from the Illinois legislature.
