Local groups focused on hunger say the SUN Bucks program helped feed hundreds of thousands of children while school was out, and warn students could struggle to eat during the summer if the state doesn’t opt back in before the deadline on January 1.

The deadline for states to decide whether to participate in SUNBucks — a federal program that helps provide funds during the summer — is approaching, after Indiana opted out of the program last year.

The city of Bloomington grew a little bit larger last week. City council approved a voluntary annexation of a parcel of land at 2005 West Cory Drive in Cory Lane Estates.

The lot is inside of Bloomington’s annexation Area 4 – one of the three islands inside the city that is still under litigation.

The government asked a federal court in Indianapolis to seal a status report on the case involving fired IU professor and cybersecurity expert XiaoFeng Wang.

Law enforcement raided the homes of XiaoFeng Wang in March. He has not been charged with a crime.

Health experts advise people to get their annual flu vaccinations, wash their hands, cover their mouths when sneezing or coughing, and to stay home at least 24 hours after a fever breaks.

A directive sent out by the Marion County Public Health Department advised hospitals around Indianapolis to bar children and people with COVID or flu-like symptoms from visiting patients.

A new report from property tax company ATTOM says that Martin, Pike, Perry and Lake counties contributed the most to Indiana's higher than average foreclosure rate.

Hoosiers face foreclosures at increasing rates. New data shows Indiana has one of the highest rates in the country, ranking sixth for the highest numbers of residents evicted from homes.

The Chicago Bears say they're willing to explore a move to Northwest Indiana. The football team has been planning a new stadium in Arlington Heights, Illinois, but the team's president said the team hasn't been getting the help it wants from the Illinois legislature.
