What is high school for?
High school is where kids act like idiots, start dating, working on starting the rest of their lives, maybe training for the career they want, and studying for tests they may have. High school is supposed to be fun. Pep rallies and high school football, band practice, drivers ed, buying your first car, and being stressed out about the teachers scowl. These are the things we think about when we remember high school.
Belle Vernon Area School District in Belle, Vernon, PA wants kids to have to worry about something else. The School Board has hired a shark to oversee the guppies. Dr. Timothy Glasspool, previously of the Plum Borough School District and the Penncrest School District, has been hired as the Superintendent of Belle Vernon Area Schools.
My niece goes to high school in Belle Vernon. This is why I am getting involved. Please read the following from a concerned parent.
They moved the meeting to hire Glasspool. There is something very wrong going on here! Please share this far and wide. If you pay taxes, this includes you! If you live in the area, that includes you! I’ve tagged everyone I know that either lives in the district or has some form of outreach in this community. Please spread the word! And make time to show up to the meeting on Tuesday. These kids deserve the best and we are the only ones that can give them that.
On 9/5 at 6:00pm, Belle Vernon Area School Board will be voting on hiring Timothy Glasspool as the new superintendent of the district. In summary, Glasspool was the superintendent of Plum School District up until 2017 when 3 teachers were convicted of s*xual misconduct with as many as 8 minors, one beginning as early as 2011. He was assistant superintendent and personally interviewed the first victim on December 20, 2011, and one of the main supporters in dropping the investigation against Ruggieri; the other being the principal who was personal friends with the accused. Glasspool’s response after the arrests in 2015 was he had no idea anything was going on. He was not charged with negligence, however the grand jury report stated he would have been under the current laws that was changed in 2017 making teachers mandatory reporters.
He was center stage three more times at Plum School District for negative press; when the administrators threatened legal action against students and staff for speaking about the s*x scandal on social media in April 2015, when he denied receiving footage of the basketball coach who was suspended for verbal misconduct in December 2015, and failing to inform parents and the school board of a gun threat after banning the confederate flag from school property in December 2016. He is currently involved in bad press with Penn Crest school district when the solicitor quit in May 2023 and he has failed to hire new representation.
The community and staff of Belle Vernon school district disagree with this decision to consider employing Glasspool. Turning a blind eye to s*xual relations with students is no different than the offenders themselves. And while we are not making any accusations of any staff member currently employed at BVASD, we do not want to give the impression of tolerance to s*xual deviance with a superintendent that is known for looking the other way and denying responsibility. We raise our children to be honest, accountable, and positive influences in society. You are the company you keep. Timothy Glasspool does not embody those moral teachings.
To make matters worse than they already are, several parents were contacted by the acting superintendent, Janine Gregory, campaigning for Glasspool. She claims that he would make changes to our district and would be a good fit. She continued to push the issue, even after hearing our concerns and disapproval, that he is the best option. The current principal at BVAHS applied for the position and was denied an interview. Dr Michael Sable not only has a clean record, but he has built trust and respect with parents and students over the past five years. It was made very clear that the district has made their choice and the parents and tax payers will have to learn to like it.
We are asking for your support and presence in this matter. Our community needs positive and respectable leadership during this time, and we will not receive that from Timothy Glasspool.
That parent is genuinely concerned and it's warranted. This is a copy of the indictment that didn't get handed down due to statutory provisions that protect child rapists in Pennsylvania.

The nicest way to describe Timothy Glasspool is a dumpster fire. One needs only to google his name and will see that he is unfit to supervise children's education.
