Dr. Huang is the newest General Surgeon at Scenic Mountain Medical Group in Big Spring. He comes to Big Spring from Pennsylvania, but has worked all over the country, and has been a surgeon for 10 years.

THANK YOU Amanda Pinkley, Women Veterans Program Manager, and Bri Gamez, Public Affairs Specialist, with the West Texas VA Health Care System for coming in for Community Calendar today!!

Amanda spoke about today being Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. Today at 7 pm, in all time zones, a “Wave of Light” will be held to remember those who were only here for a moment by lighting a candle for at least an hour.

Bri advised that the West Texas VA is currently under construction and volunteers are still needed. Volunteering can look like a variety of things. She also spoke about Breast Cancer Awareness. On Oct. 30th, the VA in Big Spring will have a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk around their track.

THANK YOU to comedians Chris Crawford and Matty Cupcakes with WHAT A JOKE Comedy for coming in to talk about the 4th annual DAV Comedy Night at the VFW in Big Spring on November 2, 2024.

This is a FREE event to bring awareness and raise money for the DAV. Plus, they’ll be taking donations at the door the United Way of Big Spring and Howard County.

Nick Cantu, Director of Sports Information and Social Media for Howard College joined, showed off his Hawk swag this morning during Community Calendar this morning! He came in to talk about tomorrow’s (10/01/24) Meet the Hawks Night!!

This will be held at 7 pm at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum in Big Spring on the Howard College campus, 1001 Birdwell Ln. in Big Spring. In addition to meet and greets, there will be Dunk Contests, 3-Point Contests, prizes and swag giveaway!
