Hey, Tractor Supply fans! We received a mailer indicating Tractor Supply would open this morning, but we visited the store today, and ... it's closed. Staff indicated they won't be able to open until Saturday, Jan. 11. This will be a SOFT launch. The grand opening is now scheduled for Jan. 18 at 8 a.m., according to the Big Bear Chamber. If anything changes, we'll let you know.

Human remains were discovered near Cactus Flats and Smarts Ranch Road. The body has not yet been identified. We'll continue to provide details as we receive them.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, at approximately 3 p.m., deputies were called to Smarts Ranch Road near Cactus Flats when a hunter found what appeared to be skeletal human remains. Responding

The tragedy surrounding the death of Big Bear City resident Ashley Satel continues. One month after her body was found in a home she shared with Shane Woody, it appears Woody has died by su***de. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department would not confirm or deny that Woody was a person of interest in Satel's death. Sources close to Satel suspected foul play.

The dead body of Shane Woody was found Tuesday, Oct. 22, after an apparent su***de. His body was found at 1118 Aeroplane Blvd. in Big Bear City, the same location

suspect Justin Wayne Halstenberg maintained he is innocent on all counts at an arraignment hearing this morning at San Bernardino Justice Center. This, after hearing evidence presented against him Oct. 1 and 2. A jury trial is now set to begin Nov. 18. Pre-trial will begin Oct. 29, and the defendant has been ordered to appear.
