It’s been a while since we’ve posted, but we’ve had a good reason! We’ve been so swamped with great projects over the last 3 months, and we’d like to take a moment to thank our clients that have kept us moving along! A big shout-out to the team at Russell Co, the computing services crew at Black Hawk College, the many people at QCR Holdings, the crews at Courtesy Car City, Kimberly CarCity, Kimberly BMW, KEY Auto Mall, Courtesy Ford and the team at United Way Quad Cities! Here’s to a great season and beyond.

One year ago this month, SquareOne was founded. So, we thought we would take just a minute to soak it all in.

It's been one heck of a roller coaster ride in our first year, and there's been so many different challenges and opportunities along the way. Was it scary? Sure. Has it been rewarding? Absolutely!

A billion thanks to our clients, vendors, and crew who make this all possible. It's hard to believe that one year has gone by this fast!

Had an absolute blast with the kids, parents, and staff at St Joseph Catholic School on Wednesday. Getting this many people on-board is no easy task, and the energy in the building was amazing!

Many thanks to everyone who helped make shoot day a success, including Beth Scheckel, Rachael Soesbe Vopatek, and Sharon Roling. The final piece will be so awesome!

Testing some 80's inspired motion content/social ideas for a client today. Motion content is 20-30% more likely to drive engagement than static ads, and they don't have to be difficult.

During consulting sessions, “Tradition”, or “That’s the way we’ve always done it”, is often the answer given for a lot of things - especially how organizations approach video strategies and marketing goals. But when you dig deeper, you quickly realize that there’s not a lot of substance behind the answer.

So when new opportunities challenge tradition, here’s a smarter way to approach it:

Traditions should be about value progression.
They should reflect your culture, beliefs, and practices that make you fit into the lifestyles, goals, and needs of changing demographics. Go after them and build new relationships for the future.

Traditions should not be roadblocks to opportunity.
It should be a representation of what you are, and what you’ve been, but not what you can become. Traditions are often started as a result of success, but a tradition standing in the way of success is called stagnation. Do not be afraid to break it when it’s time.

We often hear "I need a BIG video for our BIG event at the end of the month". And while it is certainly worth investing time and energy into producing videos for these events, our response is usually "What are you going to do for the other 364 days this year?"

Oftentimes, the Big Event is the beginning of many stories to come, and not the end. So don't fall into the "Big Event Trap" at the expense of your overall year-long marketing and engaging content needs. Just because the event is over, doesn't mean your organization's efforts are done.
