When Brentt Tumey was a young man, he made some mistakes. Then he was given a second chance, and he used it to make some new mistakes. He did manage to learn from those, though, and along the way he figured out he had a goal with a longer time horizon that just "tomorrow."

Listen to Brentt discuss how he found himself on the wrong path and what it took to get him working toward redemption and how he's used that redemption to try to help others avoid his early mistakes. You don't want to miss this one. Link in comments.

Whether out doing police work or in the gym training fighters, Jim Totten and Karl Kroen are all about paying it forward in their community. For Jim, it's about making a difference in the world by not just protecting, but also by serving. One way he goes about that is talking to people and making sure that people know that they can talk to him, that's he's part of the community. For Karl, it's about reaching out to young men who need a father figure, particularly as he didn't have one for most of his childhood.

This episode reminds us all that we can make a difference, but we have to get out there in order to do so. Link in comments. It's a good one.

This episode was made possible by value for value, in more ways than one. Many of you have reached out and helped us with the costs. Others have provided materials. Jim and Karl provided their time and talent, driving from Kansas City to appear on the show. If you've got some time, treasure, or talent to offer, hit us up and we'll put it to good use.

Jim Totten, Jr. played a variety of sports growing up, even spending time as a semi-professional football player, but fighting was always his love. Karl Kroen had a different path into the world of boxing, but a few years ago, the pair met up and are now doing their best to help others via the sport. Listen to Jim and Karl discuss how fighting helped them grow as men and how they're now using their passion to help others go down the same path. Link in comments.

This episode features a lot of value for value and we appreciate all of you who have reached out to provide us with such. If you get something from Jim and Karl's stories, reach out and let us know what time, treasure, or talent you have to offer. We'll let you know where to send it.

Don and Doug Overstreet love their job and they love the moments they get to celebrate with their customers. Because it's not about the sale, it's about the relationship. In part two of our latest episode, listen to the two discuss why they have dedicated their lives to helping people mark their moments. Link in comments.

There's a lot of value in this episode, and not because of the value of the jewels we discuss. After listening, if you feel inspired to share some time, treasure, or talent with us, let us know. We'll direct you on how to do so. We couldn't do this without you listeners and the community you're helping us build with each new episode.

Little building big stories and generational importance this Thursday learn a few things with us.
Overstreet’s Jewelry is a family-owned business that began when Ralph and Belle Overstreet came to Arkansas in November 1948 to attend the wedding of her younger sister. Ralph found a watch repair shop on the Bentonville square that was for sale and bought it on the spot. They then moved “back home” and stayed to build their business. They have both passed on, but their vision lives on.
This is going to be one you won’t want to miss out on hearing.

Ghosts, severed fingers, and hotel rooms full of bubbles. These are things you can't experience if you don't go out and travel. There's also the truth that the history that you get in books, movies, and television shows these days isn't exactly accurate. If you go out and see if for yourself, though, the truth is still out there.

Listen to part two of our episode with Gan Nunnally and get inspired to see more parts of the United States than you've seen so far. It's a great big country that still begs to be explored. Link in comments.

When you do explore, one thing you'll find the country blessed with is time, treasure, and talent. If you've enjoyed the time treasure and talent on offer in this episode, make sure to share some of that value you find when you're out on the open road. Hit us up and we'll tell you where to direct it.

Much like Marines, snipers aren't made, they're born. Jason Rodden was born a Marine and a sniper, but sometimes the universe has different plans, as it did with Jason. Relentless from a young age, he steadily moved toward his goals. First it was joining the Marine Corps. Second was earning his way into sniper school. Third? Well, that's when the universe asserted itself.

Jason didn't stop, despite the interruption. Instead, he recalibrated. Now, he's continuing on his new mission, one just as important as the one he initially envisioned. In this episode, listen to him tell people how to move on from the darkness into being a light for others. Link in comments.

At the age of 9, Jason Rodden knew he was a Marine, but it wasn't until he graduated high school and joined the ranks of recruits that it became a reality. Between those years, the 9/11 terrorist attacks were launched on America, which meant Jason hit the ground running once he was sent into duty. It was what he'd been dreaming of.

He became a point man and a PFC, always putting himself first in the line of fire. This resulted in deployments to Iraq and then Afghanistan. Once in Afghanistan, he found himself being hunted by a sniper for three long days, one spent in his silkies. Find out how he survived, thrived, and what happened to the man who was hunting him in this episode. Link in comments.

After being shot, James Dray found himself at the mouth of the tunnel of light, but it wasn't his time to pass through it. Instead, he stayed on this plane and worked on healing so he could return to work. He made that return, though after a few years back on the streets, the gravity of what he'd been through caught up with him, so he had to heal again.

Heal he did, continuing in his profession until retirement. Listen to James discuss his journey, as well as his strategy for playing the slot machines in today's episode. It's one you don't want to miss. Link in comments.

Also, thanks to our generous listeners who have been providing us with value for value. We've always got room for more, though, so if you've got some time, treasure, or talent for us, shoot us a message and let us know.
