At the time, the space race was on and Ford dreamt up this rocket/jet fighter inspired design with falcon doors, aggressive lines, and two fins at the back to compliment the super aerodynamic look. Check out the dual front tires. 🤔

Yankee Doodle Dandy was a hamburger restaurant chain started in Bensenville by Chris and Bill Proyce in December 1966. The chain had as many as 27 locations, one of them just down the street from Victory at York Rd and Green St. I remember my dad taking me there in the 1970s. Their tv ads featured an attractive woman in a 1776 “Betsy Ross” style costume and their slogan was “Come on down where the the good times are! Yankee Doodle Dandy”! By the late 1980s the franchise was defunct.

1954 Dodge Firearrow II concept car designed by Virgil Exner and hand built by Ghia Coachbuilders of Turin, Italy. The 241 cubic inch engine had 150hp at 4400 rpm and a Gyro torque semi automatic transmission. This is one of only 4 ever produced. The first was the model. The second is this car, fully operational and was featured in a Sotheby’s auction in 2021. I couldn’t find who bought it or what it sold for, but it was estimated (at the time) to go for between $900K and $1.2 million. The third was a coupe and the fourth was to be the production model.

I was surprised at how many people came to the Gremlin’s defense after we posted this video. Personally, I never cared for any of the cars in AMC’s lineup…except for maybe the AMX and Javelin, probably for their similarity to the Mustang
