Marlboro Publishing Company, Inc. of Bennettsville, South Carolina has produced the Herald-Advocate newspaper (formerly known as the Marlboro Herald-Advocate) since the 1930's, and can trace its roots back to the 1870's. As you will likely agree, it is rare to find a locally owned and operated media outlet in today's world of mega-media conglomerates. It is our belief that being locally owned and operated allows us to deliver wonderfully personalized service to all of our clients, whether this be an individual, small business, or a nationally known firm.
After much consideration, research and planning, we made the decision in December 2018 to publish a regional magazine that we entitled P*e Dee Life. The mission of P*e Dee Life is to celebrate the unique people, places, food and festivals found in the northeastern corner of South Carolina that is named for the river that flows through its heart. We honor the history of the P*e Dee region while showcasing all that makes the area an up-and-coming location for businesses and families to grow, prosper, and enjoy a quality of life that compares to none other.
P*e Dee Life’s coverage area is comprised of Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Marion, and Marlboro counties. In each quarterly issue we spotlight the towns, cities and communities located within the P*e Dee region, including profiles of businesses and individuals that make an impact within their community and beyond.
The magazine is available for free to the public and made available at sites located across the P*e Dee region including hospitals, restaurants, specialty shops, hotels and all of our participating advertisers’ locations. We produce 10,000 printed copies of each issue. Online readers will find it easy to enjoy every issue on their favorite digital device in a “page-turner” format, just like the print edition, by visiting our website at http://www.peedee.life. Avid readers and those outside the P*e Dee region who enjoy the magazine can have home delivery for an annual subscription fee (4 issues) of $20.00.
