Current Watches, Warnings and Advisories for Humphreys (MSC053) Mississippi Issued by the National Weather ServiceApril 05, 2022 at 02:46AM ...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southwestern Sunflower, west central Holmes, southeastern Washington, Humphreys and northern Sharkey Counties through 345 AM CDT... At 246 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Rolling Fork, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.

Special Recognition to Captain McPherson of the Belzoni Police Department for his tireless service to the community of Belzoni aswell as Humphreys County. Mr. McPherson was a former employee oh the Humphreys County Sheriff office under the leadership of the late, Sheriff JD “Bubba” Rossman and the G.O.A.T Chief Deputy Darrin “Dee” Allen, as he served as an immediate assistant to the sheriff and the Chief Deputy. Mr. McPherson is currently serving community as the Captain of the Belzoni Police Department and also being the Lead Investigator for the department. Also, he is still serving the county of Humphreys as the deputy director of Emergency Management . Captain McPherson has a long history of service to Humphreys, Belzoni , the town of Isola, and the United States Armed Forces. Captain McPherson served under the 1108th Theater Aviation Sustainment Group based out of Gulfport Mississippi. While serving Captain McPherson endured several skills such as duty, honor, respect, integrity, and selfless service . While serving Captain McPherson was awarded several major accomplishments within the military ranking. Ladies and gentlemen let’s give a round of applause to Captain Dexter McPherson. 🎉

Also, might I just add what a great time we had at The Catfish Festival on yesterday, after two years it was awesome to have such fun filled activity back in the City. How great it was to see so many fun, happy, and Loving faces back home to honestly have a good time……
