3 YEARS - This was our third year producing the commissioning and commencement exercises for The Citadel-The Military College of SC. The crew did an amazing job but aside from the work we put in to making the LIVE stream happen it's a joy to see so many matriculate through this institution to become leaders in our community. As a 20 year veteran myself I understand the need for wise and understanding military leaders to examine many things throughout the world and know the impact of those decisions. Never forgot humanity. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Yesterday (5/12) we did a 5 camera shoot for an amazing up and coming play called Hood Book, written and directed by legendary gospel artist Fred Hammond. In the play he’s a lion and there a host of other characters as well.

So yesterday(5/6) we capped off the production for commencement exercises for the cadets and graduate classes at The Citadel. My team, lead by Steven Reynolds did an amazing job capturing the essence of the event, handling last minute request, resulting in a flawless ex*****on. Thanks to the team and the Citadel partners we worked with.

DAY 1 - Back in Charleston, SC providing video production and LIVE streaming for The Citadel-The Military College of SC. We setup 4 Blackmagic cameras, 2-manned (URSA Broadcast G2), 2-unmanned (BM Studio Cams), using Canon and Meike lenses connected to a Blackmagic 4K switcher, taking a feed from IT and sending a feed to the Jumbotron. It looked really amazing. Shoutout to Project Manager Steven Reynolds, Adam Bradley(TD), Keanan Nelson(Camera) and Neal Kinard(Camera).

Controlling what viewers see during a LIVE broadcast is critical to the overall show. Working with Steven Reynolds (UGS Video Production) for this project, Camera operators have to select great shots, audio is super critical especially with this many people and lighting too is all on the same level. The facility for this project Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen was amazing and all staff was so accommodating. Shout-out to Andrew and the crew.

I Love What I Do.(period). There’s something about capturing small stories that have the basis to be screen written and seen on the big screen (well, that’s how I see them). There’s also something about the contrast in the photos in this post where I have high-end camera equipment capturing an ancient method of canoe building. Did I say ‘I Love What I Do? My projects take me to interesting places, lands, rivers, lakes, tribes and cultures. This latest narrative piece I’m working on is just one of those pieces I’m thankful to be creating. Oh and BTW I Love What I Do...

A long day of shooting for me and Ric Swiner but so worth it working with the Lumbee Tribe of NC. I appreciate the opportunity to begin telling their stories. Today we filmed part of an ancient tribal practice of burning and sinking a canoe to prepare it for use. This canoe was made from a huge 6000lb loblolly pine tree.

Me and Terance have produced a lot of content. He’s a Canon guy and I’m Blackmagic Design, so does the right gear make a difference? HUGE!! Especially when it comes to glass (Lens). Did you know that some lens ‘breathe’ and that’s not necessarily a good thing. And by the way we use cinema prime and zoom lens that deliver an incredible visible difference.
