🚨LEGISLATION UPDATE: A bill that THLN opposed, , was deemed unconstitutional.

As a result, THLN advises municipalities NOT to remove any of their local ordinances as a result of HB 2127, especially those related to local animal ordinances!

Some background ➡️ House Bill 2127 – The Texas Regulatory Consistency Act was signed into law this year. This law would preempt Texas’ municipalities from regulating activity under several sections of Texas code including, the breeding of, the roadside sales of, and the sale of dogs and cats in retail pet stores.

Cities challenged this new law in court, and the Judge ordered that the motion for summary judgment by the cities is GRANTED and declared that HB 2127 is unconstitutional!

Please share this with your local municipalities and enforcement agencies, and STAY TUNED for more updates on the constitutionality of HB 2127.

For more information on the outcome of the 2023 legislative session, visit our website: www.thln.org/legislative_session_report

If you have any questions relating to HB 2127 in regards to your local ordinances, please call our helpline: 888-548-6263

You know how you've been meaning to replace your dog's lost ID tags? Drat! And now your neighborhood sounds like a war zone and your dog is going nuts. Or maybe it's your neighbor who forgot, and you're staring out the window wondering how long before his dog freaks out and jets over the fence and into the night in a blind panic...

Don't let that happen. Do This: Open your junk drawer, dig out a sharpie and write phone numbers on your dog's collar and offer to do your neighbors' dogs' collars.

Then, before the BOOMS get bad, bring your dogs inside, close the drapes, turn up your television to muffle the sound, laugh, play silly games with your dog to distract him, bake something that smells irresistible, give'em stuffed kongs to soothe their brains.

This too shall pass!

Thanks Bad Rap & Lost Dogs of America for this great tip.
